RE: Tamiya SU-152?

I'm not questioning the effectiveness of the SU-152's weapon Mart, the consequences of a direct hit on a tank are well documented. Although comparitively rare given the numbers of armoured vehicles...

RE: Tamiya SU-152?

I agree with Mart. Given that HL released the very popular Stug III shortly after the Pz III I think it is quite likely that a SU 152 will follow the KV-1 release.
As for the SU 152 being more than...

RE: A 1/16 Abrams M1A1 and/or M1A2????

They are RTR's. The Leopard 2-A5 is much better detail wise than the Abrams. In both cases the electronics and running gear need replacing to get a decent rc tank.

RE: HE LEO2A5 Track Upgrade

Nice conversion job [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
You might find that you need to beef up the suspension on the first and last road wheels though. I found that the shockers from a Pz III were perfect for the...

RE: WSN T34 and M1A2 Abrams with Elmod

I got mine off ebay, needs a lot of work to bring it up to spec detailing wise.
The T55 is being made by a firm called, Hooben.
Here's a link to their site :- Hooben

RE: Panzer IV Ausf G Turret Skirt Template

Here's a top down view of a 1:35 PzIV that gives an excellent view of the turret schurzen fixing brackets.

RE: 1/16th RC Cardboard Sdkfz-251c Pakwagen

The modelik kits do look very good.
I would love a 1:16 RC ISU 152 but no-one makes a 1:16 KV or JS tank for the lower hull and tracks.

RE: 1/16th RC Cardboard Sdkfz-251c Pakwagen

Hi All,

You beat me to it with the link ksoc.
The scope for conversion/scratch building work using those inexpensive paper model kits as plans is endless.

RE: 1/16th RC Cardboard Sdkfz-251c Pakwagen

The easiest way to get a good edge with styrene is to score with a craft knife and then snap it.
This method even works for curves.
Who is the manufacturer of the cardboard models, do you have a...

RE: 1/16th RC Cardboard Sdkfz-251c Pakwagen

That's a brilliant piece of work.
Would there be any point in using the cardboard plans as a blueprint for a styrene model?
I'm thinking about the effects our UK weather would have on cardbord.

RE: Laser Diode

Hi Brel,

It works on 3 volts, so it should be fine wired in place of the machine gun led.

RE: My HE Leopard 2A5 modification to HL

Since doing the upgrade mine also runs slower, I think this is more realistic though as it was far too fast before.
Having said that, it shouldn't be slower than the Pershing.
Looking at your...

Laser Diode

Hi All,

The laser diode arrived today. It's gonna be used as a target designator in my Leo.
Can't believe how small it is, 12mm long, 4mm wide.

RE: Restored Bandai Tiger I

Really nice Tiger you have there.
The detailing is very nice, especially the 'S mine' launchers.
I've got loads of pics of Tigers running on combat tracks with the outer road wheels removed,...

RE: Help purchasing HE Leopard 2A5

Hi Blitz,

That's great news. These tanks get a lot of stick on various forums and they DON'T deserve it.
There only real problems are the running gear and electronics. Both of which are easily...

Crossed threads here I think. I've already replied in your post before reading this one.:)

RE: My HE Leopard 2A5 modification to HL

Nice upgrade, very similar to mine.
If you place the RX14 & receiver boards in the turret you will not need to waterproof the hull.
The space this frees up in the hull will allow you to move the...

RE: Help purchasing HE Leopard 2A5

To get a decent runner out of the HE Leo2 A5 you will need to upgrade the electronics as the original kit is single speed ( very fast ) forwards & backwards.
I ripped out the HE electronics and...

RE: 1/16 Hobby Engine Leopard 2A5 and M1A2 Upgrade Tracks?

Kenny's tracks are top class but at $150 USD + Shipping they would almost double the cost of the project.
The total outlay on the Leo project was less than £120 GBP.

RE: 1/16 Hobby Engine Leopard 2A5 and M1A2 Upgrade Tracks?

Hi,

Yes you will need the tamiya sprocket aswell.
Everyone I've spoken to said the stock tamiya leo tracks are excellent, just hard to find.

Cheers
John
