RE: Which Flight Sim?

If that comment was directed at me you are saldy wrong. I have a PPL(A) with more than 80 hours logged on C152's and C172's so I know what full scale flying is like. I've also flown all kinds of...

RE: Reflex xtr Question

I've used the RMK program that comes free with XTR and it is VERY good and easy to use and there's a couple of translations of the German documentation that are more than enough to get you going if...

RE: Which Flight Sim?

Utter tosh! While XTR, AFPD (and to a lesser extent RFG3) may well have "eye candy" their MAIN selling point is that they have very accurate mathematical modelling of the physics of a plane so the...

RE: Himax 2015 4100 or 5400?

As everyone says, the 4100 is for 3S and the 5400 is for 2S. As you are using 3S packs you're right to go with the 4100

RE: MRC Reflex XTR flight sim.

See messages above - it's www.rc-sim.de - that is THE place for all things to do with ANY R/C simulator. Most people making scenery or models for FMS, AFP, XTR or whatever post their models to rc-sim...

RE: Reflex sim

www.reflex-sim.de has a list of the "official" requirements. Main one seems to be having a decent AGP graphics card (mine is just 64MB and the sim does great)

RE: What do KV ratings mean in a BL motor - and should I care?

Terry,

Best way to choose a BL power system is not to worry about anything like Kv at all! - that's only important if you are the first person trying to find a brushless combination for a new...

RE: Which shocky

Blade/Blitz both good choices for learning new stuff cos it doesn't matter if you crash. I've got both. I've also got a shocky Extra and it's a more "precise" flyer (but more suscpetible to damage)

RE: few shockflyer questions

tiktock,

A 10x4.7 on a 2208/34 on 3S is TOO much prop and will pull dangerous amps through your cells, ESC and motor - something may burn out. But just measure 1/2" in from the tip of each prop...

RE: total newbie, question about simulator

1) With the lastest FMS 8.3 it's almost as good as Pre-flight but the important thing to note that ONLY FMS is free, Pre-flight isn't. In FMS you can control all four channels (aileron, elevator,...

RE: Brushless / ESC ??

But that statement is wrong. A brushless ESC is more like THREE brushed ESC's bolted together. Instead of a single power switching circuit (bank of MOSFET transistors) it has three and this is why...

RE: SHOCKFLYER W/STOCK MOTOR - NO GOOD!

Umm you're wrong about this you know. The stock setup while not brilliant will happily hover and do all the 3D hihg alpha stuff but ONLY if you use a 3S pack of Kokam 340 cells which is what the...

RE: How are the planes in Reflex XTR?

I originally got XTR cos I was principally flying helis at the time but since the advent of 3D foamy shockflyers I'm only really flying planes these days and I find that the planes in XTR (especially...

RE: Shock Flyer control surfaces

Yup - you can always calm things down with expo and dual-rates on your Tx but before too long you'll want all the movement you can get. HOwever if you're building the kit as supplied to the...

RE: Electric motor breakin Please HELP

sniclefritz

Odd though it may sound you connect the motor up to a D cell alkaline and run it under water in a glass for a few minutes until the water turns grey. Usually a good idea to add a few...

RE: WHATTMETER by AstroFlight (?)

Yup, something up with your search - entering simply "whattmeter" and doing an all forums search returns TONS of threads (majority withoin this forum).

But what did you want to know about it -...

RE: Pusher Props for GWS drives

I know that for some of the Wright Flyer kits, to counteract prop torque, some people ran the two motors in opposite directions but to do this they ended up having to carve their own (symmetrically...

RE: New Himax "Outrunner"

More details about this here:

Judging from the thrust it can produce this is a competitor to the AXI...

RE: MINI SHOCKY

SFKid,

If you cut the ailerons incorrectly (about 30-40% of people seem to) then the pushrods will not be long enough so my guess is that's what you've done wrong.

RE: Best RC Sim for 3D

Only one I've used is Reflex but in that I can say that the shockflyer model flies 3D EXACTLY the same as the real model which is pretty much all you can hope for (oh and the graphics are to die for)...
