These are actually off of my Carf P47, but was hoping maybe they are used on one of the Carf jets as well-looking for a source for some spares of these.

Yes, mine are the same-a fair amount of lateral movement. Has not proven to be an issue, but certainly would only make it better to make it better as you described.
