RE: breaking in a new 3.3 tmaxx engine

Best method is called heat cycling. A few searches and you'll find it.

But, basically it involves running the engine extra rich and at part throttle till it comes up to about 200-220 then shut...

RE: diff for mlst

The brushless e-revo is a great upgrade, similar size and a huge motor with superior suspension. For the money it's hard to beat.

A 5400 or 6800 Castle sidewinder brushless combo with the Losi...

RE: Thinking about racing at the local track

Mine hooks up better with the sway bars for what I do with it and I like the flatter turning. The bars also allow adjusting traction front to rear. Really depends on the track and where you want...

RE: 3.3 revo issues (motor)

wow! Poof... If that was a new engine, Traxxas will replace it for free. They replaced one of mine for free when the rod snapped.

Nitro rules! The sound turns heads every time... Good to hear you had a good time with it. Even stock it's a killer car.

RE: help

Is the shaft fluted? I've seen problems with the bearing when it's fluted but it's more of a chugging problem, it should still work. It's common for the one way bearing to fail but it's usually...

RE: Revo 3.3 aftermarket parts...whats good whats bad?

Center diff with 500-800wt oil is an excellent upgrade. You'll also need the rear brake kit. The conversion removes all the heavy reverse parts (if you have them) and the diff itself distributes...

RE: 3.3 revo issues (motor)

Be sure to prime the engine properly first, there should in the lines right up to the carb before you try to start the engine. Start with the needles at stock settings. Make sure there are no air...

RE: Shocks for tmaxx 3.3

Big bores have nice features like nitride shafts and teflon coated hard anodized shock bodies but Traxxas does not sell replacement parts. There is a weak c-clip on the bottom that holds the whole...

RE: RC car choice help! (Read description)

The brushless 1/16 e-revo has what you are looking for except it comes with a NiMh battery, but it will work with a NiCd if you really want it to. The GTR option shocks...

RE: will this affect my tune?

I installed the e-revo version of the slipper parts and now it has better control over slip http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTKK8&P=7. I never liked the small range of adjustment...

RE: Outtakontroll's Revo 3.3 broken again

Missing bearings, that explains the damage. That sucks. At least you're getting it figured out. I agree, get rid of the reverse gear asap, it's a lot of heavy unneded parts that can fail. The FOC...

RE: Revo CD Grease (?)

I run about 600-700 in one of mine and almost all of the power goes to the rear. It was a mix of 500 and 800. 150k is way too thin, you need at least 400k before it starts working correctly. It...

RE: mip center shafts??

Even the right MIP kit seemed to require some grinding. I did two sets for friends and they both required grinding off about 1/8 inch of material on one end. Might just have been the wrong ones. ...

RE: Outtakontroll's Revo 3.3 broken again

RE: hyper 7 or revo 3.3??

Your question is which is faster. The OFNA is faster. I'd still go with the Revo, as a result of the rocker suspension, it handles better. Plop in a Picco .26 red dot and a decent pipe and it...

RE: stronger servo Q

Could also be that your pillow ball caps are too tight and or the steering gear is binding or loose or the little plastic bushings are causing excess friction. You can replace the two right side...

RE: T-maxx 3.3 problems - Help -

Yes, any metal to metal screw should be loctited with the blue stuff. If you want a permanent hold, use the red stuff. Loctite makes plastic brittle so be careful not to use loctite in plastic...
