RE: What engine should i buy? Who is the *BEST*

I voted TM523... 'cause I love my TM323 (the 523's predecessor)... it's been a great motor, easy to tune, GOBS of power. :D

RE: i need help deciding

Ummmm... no... that's like saying a Corvette is better than a Malibu.... a Mustang is better than a Focus.... A Genesis is better than a Sonata... Skyline is better than a Sentra... get my drift? :D

RE: i need help deciding

When you buy used R/C... you should automatically assume you will need to replace the motor. $150 isn't bad... 'cause you can get a nice motor for $150... you'll have $300 into the truck, and it'll...

RE: i need help deciding

My LST2 has seen more wrench time and down time in 1 year than my Revo has in 5....

RE: rc truck sitting for some time

The proper thing to do would be to put some ARO in it to make sure your starting doesn't scar the sleeve... check airfilters, fuel lines, etc...

HOWEVER... I've been off-and-on with R/C over...

RE: pound for pound which of the 5 is the fastest in a straight away

LOL... yeah, that's why my Revo doesn't have the factory body... wheels/tires... and has a really badly bent head.

RE: pound for pound which of the 5 is the fastest in a straight away

They're fun. You'd think that because they are so big, they'd be hard to control, but the LST2 handles pretty good. I was surprised.

On a side note, I saw an XXL in my LHS, and I'm not that...

RE: pound for pound which of the 5 is the fastest in a straight away

Technically... THIS is a REAL MT...

But in the scaled R/C world... they're all MT's... Revo, MGT, Savage, LST2, etc...

RE: pound for pound which of the 5 is the fastest in a straight away

Since your post was in reply to HerrSavage, I'm guessing you're talking about his LST2... those are stock LST2 tires and 420 dish wheels (also stock on the LST2)... they make a cool sound when...

Why not? It's classified as a MT... it's built like an MT... looks like a MT...

Wheelie bar / gearing / throttle control. It's better to have the power and not need it than need it and not have it.

RE: pound for pound which of the 5 is the fastest in a straight away

Most likely because for this application the MGT8.0 would not be a good fit. Until recently, MGT's have been the slower of the mainstream nitro MT's. The 8.0 has some power with the big .50 engine,...

RE: pound for pound which of the 5 is the fastest in a straight away

He can probably get some more out of it with tuning / gearing... the downfall to the XXL for your situation is that it's #1 heavy (13lbs) and #2 the 454 engine in it is already a .28 (almost as big...

AB Mods is a good company. Awesome job... award-winning, even....

If that Revo had bigger tires, it would go faster top-end... :D

RE: pound for pound which of the 5 is the fastest in a straight away

I don't know about the MMT, but the Mammoth (The MMT's predecessor) was fast top-end... it was approx. 50MPH stock. Then again, you were lucky to get it to last long enough to get to 50MPH... things...

RE: Why SHOULDN'T i buy a new Hpi Savage X?

High idle... cuts out when accellerating... could cause temps to come up due to the higher idle and more lean condition @ idle.

RE: Why SHOULDN'T i buy a new Hpi Savage X?

Usually the LSN doesn't effect the temps, however it will effect the idle. The pinch test is a great test to make sure you're right, but the best way is to tune to performance... LSN only needs to...

+1 on #1 and #2, but not on the disappointment.... :D

The Revo doesn't require any major upgrades out of the box. What I always suggest with it is that you do as the JoKeR said... when it...

Also... Traxxas is a business... businesses are created to make money... and as much as they can. If the market will bear the price, they will charge it.

Look at Microsoft... they sell...
