RE: Airliner Flap Deflections

RE: Dodging the bullet!

I got my screen name by gliding 10 minutes in the clouds not knowing what I would see when I came out the bottom (800 foot). Walked away. Life is good!

RE: Futaba or Spectrum

Actually, since they are hard to come by, (or buy?) I submit the best gimbals in the world are going to come from this guy:

RE: JR tansmitters

NOT the lead to the antenna, that is RF output. You need the wire going from the encoder to the rf deck.

RE: Any CFIs Here???

The best student I ever had for basic was an RC dude. Solo'd in about 6 hours. Got his certificate before he hit 45. That was over 20 years ago, but I remember thinking back then how cool it would be...

RE: Full scale flyers....roll call.

I highly doubt Mom's mistake is even a pilot, let alone a professional one. If you read some of his other posts, he boasts about how great he is, and also about how many hundreds of hours he has on...

RE: Any CFIs Here???

OK, I'll bite, why the picture of a two lane country road?
Mom's, I'm starting to think you are a legend in your own mind!

RE: Mooney closig Doors

That sucks.
I thought they were much better than the flying tupperware that seems to be so popular today.

RE: Full scale flyers....roll call.

Hey Mom's, can you point us to your instructors accident?
Just want to see how more restrictive regs would have prevented that.
Thanks.

RE: Welcome to Common Sense RC

I have a question about your recommended motor setups, specifically the 90 size. The charts all reflect 15c batteries, which are actually becoming rare, and certainly eclipsed. Iassume most/ part of...

RE: Incorrectly charged a Lipo like it was a NIMH

I took my puffy battery to the end of the drive way and pounded a nail through it like it was a vampire.
Idon't recommend it though.

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

I think you are missing the boat here. The issue is not terrorist using a delivery system, the issue is models in the National Airspace System. Terrorist will do what they will, and no changes to the...

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

:

This is part of what I have been trying to get at. If suddenly a bunch of modelers start screaming about we are not terrorists it draws un-needed attention and does nothing but confuse the...

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

Yes. I know when I have airspace or FCC part 15 questions, the first person I seek out is NYC beat cop.

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

How do you figure this has any basis in legality? He has NO ability to see and avoid, except for what is directly in front of him. And flying at 30 knots, that is of little value. As someone who...

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

This is the kind of stupidity that the FAA must be concerned with, I think to a higher degree than the "NYC" video:
http://vimeo.com/14565779
Taking the model up to 11,200 feet in the NAS.
Then...

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

AFAIK, (and I'm just a fluff ball in the internet) NO uav's are allowed into the NAS. They stay in Military Operations Areas or special use (restricted) airspace.

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

I am beginning to wonder if the AMA should have anything to do with FPV.
I have the feeling it is already too late, but maybe they should just drop any notion of FPV, it is very decisive. And the...

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

That one was unsafe and illegal. They were at least as high as some of the skyscrappers and they go up over 1000'. The VFR corridor over the Hudson, IIRC, is 1100 ft. Insane. They have the potential...

RE: Idiots in New York, RC plane buzzing Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

There are many issues at play here.
The one that flips my flopper is the people that fly many thousands of feet into the air.

RE: I think it's time to look back to Valujet

That number sounds high, but not too out of line. Emergencies encompass many things, including passengers having heart attacks.

To celibrate the end of an airline (especially in this case, because...
