RE: Question About Converting to Electric

actually, the glow motor is rated up to 2.5, but probably doesn't rev much higher than 20,000, putting it right around 1hp from what i have read. Im worried that 100-120A plus 7s123 is going to move...

RE: Question About Converting to Electric

100-120A minimum? Is this because people setup 1/8 scale on 3-4cell packs? A 7s 2P A123 at 120AMP would be 2770 watts. Thats over 3.5HP. The glow engine on this thing, in the best case scenario...

RE: slow startup???

IMHO going from zero RPM to full RPM by clicking idle up would not be a good idea unless you have a esc soft start for electrics or a gov delay for nitros. The sudden power increase could fold the...

RE: motors and other hot stuff

Good brushless systems run much cooler, are easier on lipos, and will last longer. I don't see why not

RE: 50cc mufflers/diverters

Find some piping (preferably thin aluminum) that has an OD equal to that of the ID of your exhaust pipe. Drill holes on the pipe (about the same area as the ID) on the pipe. Cut is so it is flush...

RE: New CRRC Pro GP50R prototype 50cc

Just curious, is this the same head as the DL. I mean it looks exactly the same, inside and out, from the pictures i have seen. I know that an engine is an engine but this head looks no different...

The new mount has about 2 hours on it so far and it is still holding. Got out to the field early and did 1.5 hours of flying.

RE: silent beauty muffler mounting bracket problems

Hi all
I squeezed in 40 minutes this morning. So far it is holding. I think i will go with the threaded rod technique if this comes loose

RE: silent beauty muffler mounting bracket problems

Time for round two
I decided to do a new bracket that was about 1/2inch longer. Used a hammer and vise grip to once again get the dimensions as close as possible. Once done, i used three self...

RE: silent beauty muffler mounting bracket problems

RE: DL 50 low compressions, low power, bad idle

Maybe i didn't make that clear in the other post. I peaked the high end with the engine running and leaned the low end as far as it will go without sacrificing transition. It is only one tank on...

RE: DL55 Sound Levels

I actually used JB weld. It still holds very strong although i didn't really use it much and it never flew on a big plane. Might be worth a shot.
