Ok, fillers come down to personal choice and whats available to you. I'd go with balsarite, its light and easy to sand etc, many fillers are hard and its so easy to sand a skin next the filler away...

denoferth, I havent used dope for many years, not since I discovered Sig 'stixit'. I apply the silk damp, not soaked, and get good results that way and usually go over everything after the silk...

I'd suggest you check out the cricket, its a form cutter, which you need to get the shaped cutters for whatever you want to cut. The range is actually quite limited

I looked into getting a vinyl cutter recently to cut mystencils for my airbrushing. Even buying a decent used cutter, by the time you bought the relevant programs, vinyls etc you are looking at well...

dont believe that burnt edges glue well. that black gunk is all the resin of the wood and will NOT take glue properly. I always sand joint areas back to clean timber
