RE: Red Aero MXS-R sigting

Maidened my 100cc MXS-R today. DLE-111 on stock pipes, Vess 27-C prop. Nice, stable, light, great tracking, great speed, excellent vertical, hover half throttle with excellent pull-out. Virtually no...

RE: Extreme Flight 110

Completely killed my 110" today.  Pulled into a wall.  Thought it was a bit slow, and that I forgot to hit HIGH rates.  Flicked the choke instead and instantly killed the motor.  Deadstick into the...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

Bevel to bevel elevator throw is the only way to go. Makes the plane much more interesting.

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

Richard and Dick Hanson got me on the A123 bandwagon two years ago. They were the first people to really put info out for the rest of us. Until new technology comes out, I'm staying with A123's. ...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

Had a 225 on the throttle and killed the gear train. I've run a 5625 for 400 plus flights without a hitch. Believe it or not, I have a 5955 on my choke on my 110" Yak. Why? Because I had one that...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

My DA50 turned a Vess 23A at 7600rpm on the MTW 75 pipe on Amsoil 100:1. Instant throttle response. Awesome power on pull out. Only draw back is the exhaust stinger didn't quite extend past the...

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!

10 flights at the FX3D event in Jacksonville. Really impressed with the plane. Can't wait to burn through my break in gas, tweak the needles a touch and put the 27A on the nose.

RE: 88" EF yak or 86" QQ yak?

I owned the Aeroworks Yak and flew 200 flights. Good airplane with good flight characteristics. I now own the 88" EF Yak and it is not a "good" airplane. It is a "SUPERB" airplane! I have 200...

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!

pfoot, that's really sweet! Love the CF baffles. Got to find myself a source for either CF plate or CF cloth to fabricate something. I'm on the slow side building this one. Had to finish building...

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!

I'm finally getting close on my plane. Spent the day setting up linkages and programming the servos. I learn a ton everytime I step up in size and complexity. I'm Y-ing the ailerons and rudder...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

Look at the online directions for the 110" Yak to see if it is the same. The 110" looks like a more robust setup than the 88". I went to a J&J direct drive tailwheel on the 88", but retained the...

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!

Charles, I will be powering the AR7000 with twin A123 2300mah packs via twin Smart Fly super switches. I ran a single pack on my 88", but ran twin leads into the receiver. No problems. Glad to be...

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!

Diamond Dave, the 110" is 22", or exactly 25% bigger than the 88" Yak. Coincidently, 5" wheels are exactly 25% bigger than 4" wheels. I used the Chrome hub Kavan 4" on the 88" and 5" Sullivan...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

Charles, I plan to set up my 110" like yours with 3 A123's. Just realized my post was in response to Cobra_03 instead of you. Glad you like your setup. My hat's off to Dick Hanson and Richard...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

cjcyclesrc, don't be nervous about using A123's. I run 5 5955's, one 5625, AR 7000 (7100? can't remember) and NO regulators with a single A123 2300 mah Black Pack from Sin City Jets. I routinely...

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!

I run a 5625 on the servo and have had no problems over 350 flights. I ran a 225 on my first gasser and had problems with it after about 20 flights. There are metal gears all over this plane. ...

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly

Really no problems with the plane. The gear gives, but is not too soft. The firewall was a bit too light on the first run. I have kit #17 from the first run, and the firewall issue has been...
