RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Hi clarc,

Sounds like a good setup to me. The one thing a do not like about the Airtronics radio is the lack of DR/EXP on the rudder unless the newer radios now have that. Your setup means any...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Yarom,

Both motors will work just fine. Jeff is right, the big singles do shake a little more but my DA-85 gets the job done and so far I have been happy with mine. The BME is a good motor and...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Mark,

I've only spoken with him and not seen the plane. The weather was not the greatest so I don't blame him. He is happy with it but I am sure he would like a little more power. Any motor...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

ws61000hp,

Congrats on the new plane! Anyway we do have a guy flying one on a ZDZ 80 up here. I have not seen it fly but he said he is pretty happy with it. I am hoping to see that plane this...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Frank,

I did mount the ign to the top of the motor box. From the shipping carton lining, I cut a piece of ply the same width as the ign and epoxied to the top of the motor box. I strapped the...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

By all means, if DA says to go with wood you should be fine. I don't know about stacking standoffs though. The cable stops I use are escentually 3/4" aluminum washers.

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

romlen,

I assume your talking about the DA-100? Anyway, I used washers in that photo to get the standoff figured out. It came in at 1-1/4" for the 100. You could use dowels like you...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Eric,

I am getting the same one. The first header I got was perfect but the drop was incorrect because of the top inlet on the canister. The second one reached to far back and needed to be cut...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Thanks Guys!

We work very hard and it is appreciated. On another note, I’ve been flying the piss out of mine with the DA-85. Now that is broken in, it’s really becoming an more enjoyable...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Rob,

The KS-95 is not that quite but I imagine the pitts is worse. The KS-95 is all I've tested thus far. So...I don't know if it's the best choice but it works for me. I am considering the...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

PTS

The wait should be about over hopefully! :D What are you planning on using for power? I have gotten some more time in on my 85 and am really enjoying the motor in this plane.

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Great shots again John! Here's another video of both the DA-85 from yesterday and the DA-100. You wont need a scale to see high light this thing is. There's also a higher res version on the web...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Ryan,

Glad to hear! Nothing like a good ol' DA to make for a great day.

John,

Jeff's got mad skills, you should have seen him on the 36% Edge yesterday. He was a throwing down.:)

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Haha Yarom,

You'd better do some more research on the 85. DA recommends this motor to be fully supported. Besides, this standoff weighs very little. If users want to use regular standoffs,...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Eric,

That’s odd, my throttle was fine with 2/56 for both the 85 and 100. Do you have an earlier version of the 85? I am also interested in your throttle setup. I know how I am going to go...
