RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I think the new version DA 100 would help balance this plane, plus if you can lose 5-6 ounces that is a nice weight loss there as well.

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I custom made some aluminum standoffs, believe they came out just a hair short of 1.25".

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I sent the dimensions of the stock gear to GT and he came back with 2 gears, the #222 and the gear for the carden edge 40%. The Edge gear is $120 from them. I opted for the rcsupergear because it...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

PTS, the CF gear just needed to be drilled to match, thats all. However, its not a cheap gear by any means at $150 from Carden. The graphtech #222 is the same size as the stock gear and is only...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I agree, its an awesome plane, thats for sure. FYI you guys planning on running a 100 or 106, you better mount everything as far back as you can. I had to put my rudder servo in the tail on a...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I got my 36% PAU Edge finished and 3 flights today. I could not have asked for a better day, 75 degrees and winds 5-10. First flight took it easy and flew for about 7 minutes then landed to check it...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Thanks for the info, without cutting the cowl ring I could not see any way to get the cowling on with the mufflers on. Shooting for a maiden next weekend.

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Ken, did you build the prototype or a production plane with a 100 and stock mufflers? Scratching my head on how to get the cowling on with the mufflers on as well as the igntion spark plugs without...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

I got the standard mufflers already, if they need to be compact will just cut them and reweld them, never know the difference. I also am going with a CF spinner, titanium tailwheel and main wheel...

RE: PAU 36% Edge 540 Assembly

Yes, I decided to just use stock mufflers on the DA to keep the weight down. No real noise concerns here. I will be using a Vess 27A for 3D flying. Dual A123 batts and 8711s all around. I called...
