RE: Fuel octane 87 or 93

I agree and I know you know what you're talking about, I just didn't want to try and make people reading this trying to learn more confused than necessary.
And yes the 104 was very expensive at...

RE: Fuel octane 87 or 93

I'm not going to say your testing wasn't accurate, but I've recently done some rudimentary octane tests on my own. In all honesty, I don't think it will make a bit of difference in our motors if we...

RE: Fuel octane 87 or 93

Not trying to step on any toes, just don't want people misinformed as it seems that it was wrongly hinted at or mentioned in several posts.

Higher octane WILL NOT make more power in any normal...

Here's what I used on my previous plane:

RE: DA50 on 100:1 Amsoil would you could you !!!????!!!???

That obviously isn't the only time I've dealt with their customer service, just the most pertinent to your concerns and it has always been top notch.

RE: DA50 on 100:1 Amsoil would you could you !!!????!!!???

Well, since you went with DA I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't like to think I do or would want anyone to take advantage of the their customer service, but they usually do take care of...

RE: Carden Pics?

That's all. I have had tails in the past get play in them after a couple hundred flights (not Cardens, but same tube and foam sheeted tail) and haven't had the slightest bit of play even after...

RE: Is a 35% better than a 33% percent,, REALLY

Depends on the plane and how scale it is
33% Extra 300L is roughly the same size (wingspan and length) as a 35% 300S
33% Edge 540T is the same size as a 35% Edge 540
Nearly any 33% plane would...

RE: ZDZ 160 Super Header Length

Just FYI, MTW is a tuned cannister.
IMO not as much of a pain to tune as a KS tuned pipe, but you still need the correct length header and have your engine tuned right for you to enjoy it.
My...

Hey Rick, what time are you going to fly on thursday? I am hoping to get to fly before the contest and would like to see how your yak flies. Your also welcome to fly mine to help figure out where...

RE: One Battery or Two??

Use 2 batteries and 2 switches. The extra switch doesn't weigh that much and gives you redundancy on the part of the system most likely to fail.

Instead of using one 4000+, use 2 2000+...

RE: Direct Drive System

Just an ubiased opinion, I thought the same way many of you guys did about it not being enough torque with fewer servos and had 3 8611s (not As) on my 39% ailerons and 2 on each elevator. The plane...

RE: 35% carden edge CG question

It will fly fine, but it would be best to fly it at serveral cg locations to see where YOU think it flies the best. Do it either way you want. Fly without the weight and then add 6-8 oz and see if...

RE: Another snap question...

I completely agree.

This is where the reynolds number comes in to play. The point I was trying to make is that we can't imitate a large pitch like the full scale planes and have our snaps exit...

RE: Another snap question...

There is such a huge difference in the reynolds number between our planes and the full scale planes along with wing loading that it is impossible for our planes to pitch like the full scale planes do...

RE: Another snap question...

A zero was correct. It would be almost impossible for it to actually break while using the wrong rudder as long as elevator was also applied in the right direction. That is the reason it rotated so...

RE: IMAC sequence snap question

There are several reasons this could be happening. Possibly too much throw on the rudder and elevator making it get buried deeper than it needs to be. Another might be cg... for your case if throw...

RE: Aileron offset problem?

A belt sander with some 50 grit paper on it would save him more time;)

But seriously, it isn't covered yet, so I would just do exactly what Bass1 said and cut the hinges off back down to the...

RE: Giant scale cowl painting.

You just have to do it by hand and peel it off several times until you think you have it in a plave you are happy with.
Also make sure you're using the rubbery blue automotive painting tape, it...
