RE: scroll saw

Good! It's not just me. I noticed this when I was messing around with band saw blades. Though it does seem that the wood blades to better when cutting hardwood for retract rails, etc.

RE: Composite design factors

When I've tried to use Cabosil in the past, I've had a very hard time mixing it in. It seems to like to make little balls that resist mixing. Any tips?

RE: balsa wood

I'll second (third?) the Balsa USA recommendation. I've been buying from them for years and have always been happy with them. They also make some very nice kits.

RE: Fiberglassing with Bondo brand resin

I'm very far from an expert on this but I thought that for fiberglass covering for painting that you wanted a finishing resin. My understanding is that the laminating resins stay tacky.

RE: Fiberglass How to: Plug to Mold to Parts

It's interesting that you go right for the chopped mat instead of a 4oz cloth or something like that which I would think would give you a smoother surface. Is the chopped mat due to the complex shape?

RE: Need User's Advice on Sig Mini Plane Bipe

I built mine stock and it flies fine. I think I have an OS 70 4S on it. You do have to stay on the rudder and be carefull though.

RE: Transferring template to wood?

SeeTemp is a nice material for creating templates. It's a clear plastic of some sort that's easy to cut. Place it over the plans and either just cut it with a blade or trace the part and then cut it....

RE: TF P-40 Build Thread

I ended up ordering the Lacquer Sanding Sealer from www.woodcraft.com. $9.99 for a quart and about $6.00 to ship two quarts of it.

RE: Safety Coordinator's role

So you don't know the details but it's just an "issue"? It would be an "issue" if hovering large (or any size) aircraft in the pits at major events was an ongoing problem. I wasn't there first hand...

On mine there were a couple pieces of tape on the wing at 128mm. Since I got the plane used I don't know if that's normal or not.
