You have solved the dilemma with your very neat modification where the RE header exits the cowl. Instead of just cutting a hole or slot, your plane looks like it came out of the box...

Thanks for the info on R/C Air. I saw Matt fly his Arrow at the TOC back around '75-76 and he flew it great. I've seen the plans on the Great Escape and sure like the way it looks.
