Nope, the choke itself seems to have an internal detent that holds it open. I had a choke servo on the airplane originally, but the Tillotson carb has the choke lever on the opposite side and so I...

You guys were exactly right. I loosened the screw, the plate slid over, and now it closes perfectly. Thanks! Now maybe the little bugger will start without pulling the spark plug!

Nope, thats how it came.

I'll try try loosening the choke plate screw and see if it will come into alignment. Seems a little odd to me that I'm having to do this.

Certainly! To me, the case looks the same. You can see though that is says V2 on it. You can also see the throttle plate is closing fully, that there is no idle adjustment screw, and that the...

I just got my engine back from Todd and it now has a V2 case and a Tillotson carb. A couple things strike me as odd, the first being that the choke butterfly/plate won't close completely. It closes...

I know the tank is plumbed correctly, but I did have one of these screw together fuel filters in the carb feed line. I say did, because its not there now. All fuel line connections now have clamps or...

Thanks Jim,

I've got the airplane all pulled apart to repair some minor damage caused during the last dead stick yesterday. I spoke with Todd this morning and I have three things to try.

First...

I am having a similar issue, my Syssa quitting after about five minutes, but only at mid power settings. Five flights on my new airplane so far, four of them ending in dead stick landings. The only...

RE: EMS GoSlow with JR Matchbox?

I haven't purchased the GoSlow yet, I want to try and determine if it will work, first.

The radio is a Spektrum DX7 with their AR7000 receiver and the servos are Hitec HS645MGs.

EMS GoSlow with JR Matchbox?

The airplane I'm building has flaps, each run by their own servo. I have these servos controlled via a JR Matchbox in order to set servo direction and end points. Now, I'd like to slow the flaps...

RE: Midwest Das Little Stik

I'd be happy to sell mine, it's the red one pictured a few posts above. I've flown it maybe a dozen times since I built it. It flies well, has almost unlimited vertical with an Evolution .36 on it,...

Williams Bros Vintange 6 5/8 wheels

Hello,

I'm in search of a set of these wheels, 6 1/2 or 6 5/8 depending on what sources I read. Anyone happen to have a set they're willing to part with?

Thanks

RE: Aircraft rolls with up elevator

Yeah, perhaps a bit. It hadn't yet flown when those pictures were taken. Before the first flight I had all the clevises loose and tweaked all the surfaces to be neutral. Good eye though!

RE: Aircraft rolls with up elevator

Interesting idea. Here's a shot from the other side. The control horn isn't that far off center but I suppose the elevator could be flexing. And since the horn is on the right side of the...

RE: Aircraft rolls with up elevator

That engine is a .45 FSR and it never flew with it. It has an Evolution .36 on it now.

RE: Aircraft rolls with up elevator

Thanks! Built it from a lazer cut short kit of an old Midwest Little Stik.

Ailerons are dead even in level flight and man, I don't see any warps and believe me, I have looked and looked.

RE: Aircraft rolls with up elevator

I think you were asking me since I was the one who started the thread. As you can see, it's nothing fancy, in fact it's pretty small and simple. 46" span, 4lbs, not an ARF.

RE: Trimming and CG

Valid points. Now I read somewhere that a symmetrical airfoil should be set at +1 degree and the stab at 0 degrees. ??

RE: AircraftIdentification
