It might be a pain to do but it might be interesting to run your motor with a different ESC to see if that is introducing something weird into the equation.

The PPG Concept line is compatible. I have used it to paint the trim colors on 3 all white Comp-arf planes. The colors may also be available from comp-arf plow the accessories area of the web site....
