RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

for YS users to be, remember it drinks around 2oz. per minute therefore a larger tank shall be intall; this combo adds weight and as any plane the lighter the better !

I am replacing my YS 120....

I have played aroud with wing incidenses, I even guess I posted them many pages ago; do not go there, this plane design just does not like power off.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Ultimate but not Goldbergs, this is a beautiful plane but not a full 3D.
Dare to try the GP 1.60 but with 40 or 50 cc gas engine, ZDZ or DA if 3D is waht you are looking for in a biplane.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Yes, I used to stored them engine up, and after a couple of seasons two of my planes with a .19 & a .90 were solid stock ( no movement) , if your engine has piston rings you are SOL.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

this plane at dead stick is a brick, no matter which engine you placed on it !!

I learned the hard way the lesson, this plane must always land with engine on, period.

place an engine you...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Rager24, I flew mine with a YS 120 17x8 scimmitar, flew it at half throttle most of the time, YS 140 is good for a 18x10 and it will fit, landing gear is really tall no problem; plane is nice but...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

foam wheels, wheel pants and heavy weight do not mix nice!

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Sttufer;

The plane is not a good 3D performer, I am flying with a YS 120 equivalet to a Saito 150, 180 4-s will be overkill, a 2.10 2-s is really not needed.

Although my guess is that the...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

A 120 4-s can fly it well, the plane is not a 3D kind, Also it is 12.5 Lbs already on that combo!, check weight on Your gas engine and based on that make Your decision.
160 2-s!, are You flying it...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

As a first bi-plane I recommend a tiger-moth by far, either Kyosho or Great planes, P-12 is heavier and has a higher stall speed.

If You are not looking for a "scale" biplane, there are other...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I take off at 35-40% throttle with my YS 120 on the P-12, as a matter of fact I have 4 biplanes, one triplane and 6 tail draggers and besides the CG ULtimate none of them take off at more than 50%...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

CountryBoy:

Traditional biplane set up is 0 degrees on bottom wing and +1 on top wing, stab could be at 0, +1/2 or +1.

Nevertheless P-12 is a sport biplane, not a Golden era plane!!

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

easton24:

a 425 on throttle is a good enough solution, You do not need to put more money into.
maybe is a bad servo or your Rx is ready for mantainence, check both.
