RE: RS4 Racer 2

I don't mean to resurrect this painfully old thread, but I still have not found another sealed geared diff case that works with the Racer 2. If I can't find anything I'll probably end up just...

RE: Want a 2 speed in a RS4

I don't really know a whole lot about the actual installation of the 2-speed on the Nitro 3's, but the installation in my Racer 2 was pretty simple, and the instructions that came with it were pretty...

RE: Trouble with the police while driving RC!

I completely understand the idea behind what the school officials were trying to do, but I seriously think that is a little overkill. They could have said that you couldn't run your R/C there...

RE: Engine now has far too much compression. Why?

I always pointed the heat gun straight down the heat sink and temped the case. The reason I did that is because I figured heating the side of the case could lead to one side being hotter than the...

RE: Too much afterrun in engine ??

Take the glow plug out, flip it over, and give it a few pulls. That should get most of it out, then prime it and start it up. It'll probably run really bogged down for a minute until it burns out...

RE: What air compressor?

This is the one that I have (same compressor, its just got a different name on it): http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=90168
And it works for what I need it to do. ...

RE: Nitro Drifting..?

Drifting with a nitro will not overheat it. I have been drifting a Nitro RS4 Racer 2 for a couple of years now and I have never had a problem with overheating or even running too rich. A hole in...

RE: Ball Vs. One-way Differentials?

I would call that a good thing rather than disappointing. Being able to change the silicone in the diff gives you the ability to adjust the diff to be loose or tight depending on your track...

RE: Ball Vs. One-way Differentials?

As for the Silicone oil, the higher the number the thicker the oil. I have seen from 5 all the way up to 200,000.

RE: Ball Vs. One-way Differentials?

With gear diffs you can put silicone oil in them of different viscocities (thickness) which can make the diff move more freely or more tightened, so to compare to real cars, it would be like an...

Any ideas of what is wrong here?

RE: Wanted Ad Question

When I search for it I am in the Wanted Ads section.
Something I noticed is that if I search for it, the car/trucks that come up when I click on the Wanted Ads section are For Sale Ads, not Wanted...

RE: Wanted Ad Question

I haven't changed any search filters, though. I also can't search for it and find it when I am not signed in.

Wanted Ad Question

I posted Wanted Ad Item No: 320805 yesterday night, and every time I try to use the search function to try and find it, it isn't there. But if I manually click on "Cars and Trucks" and then click on...

RE: drifting a nitro 4-tec?

Drifting a nitro on ABS is nowhere near impossible, I've been doing it for a couple of years, and it works fine. Just learn throttle and car control (just like an electric) and you will be fine. ...

RE: How to put an SG shaft engine in an RS4 3?

If I had a way to make precise slots, it would have been a lot easier. I used a drill press, and it was just a pain to get the holes right. They ended up slightly oblong, and it just didn't look...

RE: How to put an SG shaft engine in an RS4 3?

I had to drill new motor mount holes to get an SG shaft into my Racer 2, its sucks but it can be done. I really wish I had tried to get an adjustable motor mount instead, its a lot easier.

RE: Can I Have an official Mammoth ST thread?

I think aluminum is a must for the servo horn. It also stiffens up the steering a little bit, I noticed the stock "arm" (if you want to call it that) had a lot of flex in it.

RE: mammoth st?

That still doesn't mean that anybody sticking up for it is just trying to justify buying a POS, as you so deftly put before. I could put it the other way and say that anybody that bashes XTM is just...

RE: Futaba 2.4 Gig analog and digital?

You could mix and match, but if you are running an analog servo you will have to run in PPM mode, once you go to all digital you will be able to run in HRS mode.

RE: Normal to Drift

I guess I could have been a little more clear with that. What you do is buy 2" diameter ABS pipe and then cut it into pieces the width of your wheels, which is about 1". You can usually find it for...
