How did you mount the tailwheel? Was the bottom of the fuselage solid enough as it came or was some "surgery" required to install some reinforcement?

My Magnum starter (which is also quite strong) inserts are approximately 1 1/4" in diameter so you can rule these out in your quest:

I've had good luck with my Magnum engines; both two and four strokes. But the Magnum or ASP 91 four strokes are special. Run great, great sound.

RE: Break in question

Take a spare plug along. Nothing unusual with the first plug fouling out with the break-in crud, especially if you're using a DLE plug.

RE: A tale of 2 ASP four strokes.

I try to keep a filter between the clunk and carb since any glow engine with exhaust pressure to tank will do this. Keeping the tap "on top" helps if you fly upright but not so much if you don't.

RE: Are nicads history?

Check out LIFEPO4 or A123 batteries. While they are a type of LIPO to my knowledge they are not the fire hazard other LIPO chemistries are.

RE: Are nicads history?

bignasdy,

One of the best things I ever did was to put my wall warts away and purchase a Turnigy Accucell 6 charger from Hobby King. Once I figured it out I find it very easy to change between...

RE: Are nicads history?

I haven't used nicad in years and much prefer NIMH. You can charge NIMH with your Nicd charger, same settings. But I'm also using A123 LifePO4 batteries and like the steady voltage and storage...

RE: Primer on Gas versu glow?

From the specs I found online it sounds like a perfect candidate for a DLE-30. No way I'd want a bird that size and weight with anything but a gasser unless it was only for display.
