Get it hot and get it hot quickly. The only way to do this without a heat gun is with lean mixture and high RPM. If you understand physics then you will know you are doing it right.

These are not "race engines" nor race cars in stock form. Sounds like you are running them too lean. Run at the correct temp these engines will seem underpowered next to your normal race engines....
