Dave whats your weight ??? Mine is 22 lbs with a quadra, and I only use about 1/2 to 1/3 throttle for 90 % of my flying , including take off. Anything more dosen't make for very good scale...

Venturi is used to power any Vacuum powered instruments i.e. Turn and Bank, Directional Gyro, Attitude indicator. Any mechanical gyro instrument will need the Venturi provided vacuume

Yes I now use house paint (Latex) on all my aircraft: I have been clear coating with "warbird Colors Satin" Its water based and sprays very well
