RE: Sepulveda Basin

Hey Gang,
I thought that I would take a moment and say thanks to all who participated in last weeks warbird event. I had a really fun time, win or no win. It was a great bunch of people who just...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Yup, Woody was the man who originally designed the Cruise Air I believe back in the 40s as a free flight. Since then it has taken on some new shapes and modifications to accommodate radio control. I...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Eddy have you met the blind guy? I dug this up from more than 5 years back. Can you imagine this once in a life time experience for this blind fellow.

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Hello Fellow Pilot's

It is that special time of year again where newbie's bring out that brand new gift to try out for the very first time. These are the folks that know absolutely nothing...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Richard,

Thanks for your great community service with these combat planes. I personally had a blast being chased around the sky while trying to stay alive. You did an awesome job in getting that...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

With so many planes there on the weekend, another 6 or 8 in the sky won't make a difference. I think a couple of sessions on the weekend would be entertainment for most, and I think you will get the...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Sounds pretty nice for a combat plane. Are they built like the others?

RE: Sepulveda Basin

The Showflyer is down for now. I never got the motor dialed in, and the other YS experts didn't figure it out either. This left me with some sloppy power during my first flights. One moment the power...

RE: Graupner Showflyer...anyone ?

Have you seen one without the wing tips on it? I noticed there is a lot of roll coupling. It really doesn't want to stay in knife edge. You have to fight it all the way. Rolling circles are not as...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Thanks for the heads up on the complaint. I have heard about this same complaint in the last 4 weeks now and it seems to be someone in the morning with a giant scale. It could be anyone, anytime...

RE: Graupner Showflyer...anyone ?

Thanks for the advice,

I really think it needs a tail wheel. I had no control on the taxi way. Everyone said that I wouldn't need it, but I think it really needs one.

RE: Sepulveda Basin

What happens if you need lessons on G2 as well? Why is their PT-40 trainer so hard to fly?

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Hey Richard,

You know it is bad enough when someone looses an airplane at the field, but it is even worse when someone you fly with rubs your nose in it. I realize that leaving your wreck in the...

RE: Graupner Showflyer...anyone ?

Hello Outsider,

Thanks for the advice. I have heard that the canopy's do crack due to vibration. Do you have any personal CG set ups that you liked? The book calls for 135mm to 150mm. The guy...

RE: Graupner Showflyer...anyone ?

Has anyone installed a steerable tail wheel on a showflyer, Do you even need one? When you ordered your kit did it make it to your door without any damage? What are some of your personal CG set ups.

RE: Sepulveda Basin

Hey Dave,

The basin sits at 153/333 degrees magnetic. I checked this from the air during a departure out of VNY. While the runway at Van Nuys is 161/341 degrees. If you want an exact number get...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

I think the sign thing might be a good idea here. I know that there are many signs at the basin but believe it or not some of them do actually work. We need some kind of an idea for a newbie sign....

You missed a great show Fri, Sat, and Sun. Formation inverted flat spins smoke and all with Joe McBride's 47% Cap and my Hotspot, also inverted very low passes underneath the low hovering Cap and...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

I am all about not attracting attention. I would hope that most of the jet guys already think about this kind of thing. Especially given the current circumstances of so many So. Cal fires going on. I...

RE: Ever wonder what might hapen if a wrong way pilot hit your jet?

Hey Spencer,

I wanted to let you know that I am sorry about your loss. I know that this happened more than a week ago, but I was in Miramar with the Jet when this all went down. I have always...

RE: Sepulveda Basin

I also forgot about your age. I think that it is easier for you to be picked on only because of your age. The jet folks are mainly of an older generation with the exception of a few. Most of those...

RE: Kyosho 1:8 scale, What are the best mods?

Hey List,

What battery combo did you use in the NSR, and why did you change the steering servo? Will the stock speed control support an upgraded motor?
