RE: New YS Engine

Speaking of which, anyone have any idea of the thinking behind the 1.75S on the YS site? Looks like they added the pressurised fuel system to the 1.75, in place of the pump?

RE: ARIXTRA Build Thread by ISAAC NAJARY

Joe, I think that the gear is similar to the one that is sold here: http://www.bondaero.co.uk/Carbon_ucarriage_legs/p1085152_4986761.aspx , which has all the dimensions listed.

RE: Nuance

Ola Fremming has some great articles on making various bits and pieces for F3A planes, these 2 might be of use.

RE: ys175

The cdi will fire if you turn it over by hand, so you should never turn it over with the ignition on.

RE: YS CDI RF interference

I'm using Cdi on my model with a futaba 149 rx on 35Mhz. I have a seperate ignition battery and regulator just to keep it as isolated as possible, and spaced the ignition module some 12 inches away...

RE: Current drain using YS170CDi?

I run serperate receiver and ignition batteries on my model and get almost identical run down between the batteries; roughly 100mah per battery per flight. Ignition is slightly less and receiver is...

RE: YS 170 DZ CDI

Thanks Alejandro and Keith, I'll give that method a try next time. Good to know it isn't a problem with the motor.

RE: YS 170 DZ CDI

Has anybody had slight difficulty with the first start of the day with the 170Cdi? What I've noticed is that on the first start it'll run off the prime and then quit, as if it has slight trouble...

RE: How weight affects YOUR participation at NATS

Lately, I think designs appear not to be built to the lightest possible weight for a 2Mx2M plane, but rather they tend to be built as close to the maximum 5kg as possible, with larger fuselages,...

RE: Lightning Build

Viper2003, do you have any other pictures of how you did the hinging for the elevators? I've thought about doing such a set-up but always shied away from it in the end :)

Future futaba radios?

Has anyone heard anything about what futaba may be developing after the 18mz? I'm holding off buying a new radio until telemetry is available on a cheaper radio, maybe around the 12FG/MZ range. I...

RE: Could not start NIB YS115S

My 115 was very tight when new and was hard to turn over with glow attached. Infact I burned a few fuses in my starter trying to start it. See if the starter will turn it over without the glow...

YS 115 Leaking airbox

I've had this engine mounted in a pattern model for close on 80 flights. Every flight I've noticed the engine bay is covered in oil, and I tracked that down to a bad gasket sealing the air- chamber...

RE: YS 115 strange idle

I agree about the engine being sealed. The inside of my engine bay is covered in oil so there must be another leak somewhere. Next time I go flying I'll clean the engine and see where it's leaking...

RE: YS 115 strange idle

Thanks for the replies! Still4given you pointed me in the right direction, rocker cover was tight but on closer inspection I could see the gasket was leaking to one side. We straightened it out and...

YS 115 strange idle

Hi,
I'm getting a strange idle problem with a 115. The engine has about a gallon of 30% coolpowerthrough it, 15x10 APC, high speed needle at 2 turns, run in as per manual. After about 10 flights I...

RE: Miss Wind 50E - Glow conversion

I converted the new 50 size sukhoi with an OS 55AX, flies very well and so far no problems with vibrations. I got that plane purposly as it's covered in Oracover so I wouldn't have any covering...

RE: Pattern Plane With Dorsal And Ventral Fins

I think I see what you're saying. Having the fins away from the aerodynamic centre isn't necessarilly a bad thing. Just think of the stab or fin, the moment they produce is used to counter other...

RE: Focus Sport - Bleed Off Speed/Landing

Crankpin, that is actually the model I'm flying my 110 in. Very nice indeed :)
I don't have a camera so don't have any shots of it complete. It's a bit draggier than my last airframe, I've found...

RE: Focus Sport - Bleed Off Speed/Landing

I dunno what fuel you're using and what RPM you're getting but that sounds a bit on the small side for a 110S? Maybe something like a 15x8 will help slow the model down and load the engine more to...
