Has anyone used a canister with this engine? I see a DLE front dump canister kit for $109. With the stock muffler problems I'm wondering if the flex header is of better quality.

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

After 2 1/2 months I finally got the S2 Sport Cub on the wing today. My first impressions are, this ship is a little squirly. Here are the particulars, just short of 24 lbs with a DA 50R and a rear...

RE: RADIAN

Just got back from a Radian One Design TD contest with 30 second motor runs. We had 8 expert and 8 novice pilots and we got 6 rounds in. At the end we had a group launch with about 14 radians all...

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

I had to use some thin washers to shim my engine. I had to file the shims to get them thinner. My alignment is now near perfect except its less than 1/16" down.

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

Yes, however, I had to sand the lower right side of the cowl to get the lower right cowl screw to line up, so I may have pulled the canopy a little. Since I'm going to run a 23" prop the minute...

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

I do. Mounted it last sunday. I think I can shim the engine to make the the less than 1/8". I only needed the one of the thick spacers behind the DA 50 mounts to get the required 7 7/8".

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

My engine mounting plates were also warped. I have not tried to dewarp them yet. The one for the DA is not so bad but the universal one is as bad or worse than yours

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

I'm going to install a 32 oz fuel tank on or very near the CG. I'm also going to use a rear dump canister so I assume I will need to move the batteries forward to compensate.

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

I'm wondering the same thing. The airframe is just under 15 lbs. Did everyone have to stuff everything way forward to get the ballance?

RE: *Aeroworks 50cc S2 Sport Cub Build*

A dle 30 would fly the plane and may be much more scale like however the prop diameter may not be scale like. The sato 57 twin will also fly it but with 40% more weight and less HP than a 50 cc...

RE: st dg 1000

The DG 1000 is a novilty. It flys great but not as well as either radian. It is the only foam glider with an up an go system and it is more fragile than the radians.

RE: Got Glider Answers?

I've hooked thermals in December when it was 40 degrees outside. Rising air only takes a temperature diffenential. Thermals are everywhere, you just need to go find them.

RE: Servo Selection

You ned to look at the AUW of the aircraft as well as the size of the control surface. Small foamies have huge surfaces but light weight and can get away with very small servo's. 4M scale ships can...

Fort Casey is the "fair" slope on the island. Ebey Landing and Fort Ebey are much better.
