Do I recall correctly; I thought there was a problem with one of the hedge trimmers having a reverse rotation that was causing problems with conversion several years ago. Just a caution if correct.

how to resize ailerons and shaping

Building a mid-star 40 which came with 1/4" x 1"x 30" leading edge (LE) shaped ailerons. I plan to enlarge them to 1 1/4". I was given some 3/8" x 1.5" tapered aileron stock.

Update: did as I outlined, once drain of fuel it spun freely with starter, replaced plug, filled tank and bingo off it went no unusual sounds at full and went to idle and behaved itself. Tomorrow it...
