RE: Hope for Scale Props for SPs

Just visited the VarioProp website and it looks like they are done testing. According to their site, we are good to go on at least some of the blades for gas (and I assume glow) engines. I personally...

Cold vs. Hot RCV 60SP

Can someone explain to me why my RCV 60sp engine has better performance on the low and high end when the engine is first started? When the engine is cool it seems to be able to idle at lower RPMs and...

New 91CD

I've been breaking in my new 91CD with an APC 14x6 prop and have a few questions. To begin with, I've run the engine for about two hours over 15 minute intervals. The first runs were per the manual,...

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

Ops, never mind about the prize. Just looked at the video again, and Josh put the credits in his description of the video. Didn't see it the first time, sorry.

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

Joe, that's a fine looking bird and I'm sorry the maiden didn't go as planed, but I'm glad to see she's all fix up again! Absolutely superb!

Josh, when I get around to building my Royal Corsair...

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

You might take a look at Tru-Turn's P-51 3-blade spinner. They make it in 3" size, and looks to be pretty close to the Zero spinner in shape.

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

Anyone have any updates on the status of Solo Props? I heard something about a pending lawsuit.

RE: 1/4 Scale F4U-1A Don Smith Plans Build

Hey NCIS, nice work so far. I've been hanging on every thread to see what this big bird is all about.

As far as the interior colors, I believe the corsair cockpit is indeed zinc chromate,...

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

Hmmmm............. I haven't bought mine yet. Lets hope it doesn't come down to a case of "You snooze, you lose". This beautiful hub would make for a very expensive paper weight.

RE: First 3D Plane (servo help)

Thanks for the heads up XJet.

How about either of these:

Hitec HS-625MG High-Speed (would this have enough torque)

Hitec HS-645MG High-Torque (would this have enough speed )

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

I got hit with a $40.16 brokerage fee. I called UPS and they said it had to do with the fact that it came from out of country. Duty fees, blaa, blaa, blaa. This is such a new thing that the UPS...

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

Boy, that looks great!

I have the funds for the hub, but not so sure I can swing the blades etc. from Solo-Prop at this time. Do you have to make adjustments to fit the blades? If so, I'll find...

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

Josh, the hub may get used with the Kyosho indeed, with an RCV90-SP and the 16" blades. With a wingspan of 58-1/2", it's not a lot smaller than a 60 sized corsair. Still, the 16" Solo-Prop blades may...

Hi Juice, count me in as well. Let me know how much you want including shipping, how you want payment made (PayPal maybe?), and where to send. Thanks for all your work!

RE: 1/8 scale functional Hamilton Standard hub for RCV SP engines.

Can I climb aboard too? Just stumbled across this thread. I had contacted the folks at Solo-Prop about two weeks ago to ask about a 1/8th scale prop hub, they said not at this time. This seems too...

RE: SAITO 220 Tach. readings

Just picked up the old version (77" wingspan) Hanger 9 Mustang 1.50 for a deal I couldn't refuse. I was thinking about the Saito 220 with a four blade Solo Prop for this plane. Just wondering if...

RE: H9 Corsair flaps

Thanks Craig, I actually have a Top-Flite P-47 kit that is next on my list to build. I'll dig out the instructions and check 'em out! If I drive the inboard flap, I can install the servo through the...
