Coming back in to hobby

IMHO It's easier to take 4 screws out and put a new 2-dollar diaphragm in carburetor then mill something down and play with timing just to find out later that you missed something and ruined...

Interference you got is caused by metal pushrod for throttle. Interference travels from yoru coil/spark through yoru pushrod to the nearest metal part then through the servo wire to your rx.
