Compressors need to be compact because of rpm limits. So they have to use splitters to limit boundary layer growth.
The diffuser needs splitters because model size engines have too little room for...

Neither is the best. The second type can be radically improved by doing 2 things.
1.Where the airflow turns the cross section area should be "pinched" otherwise boundary layer growth will choke the...

RE: Russian Afterburner Featured at JWM 2011 video

That is impressive the blue burn and reliable ignition is not easy to achieve for sure. Fantastic achievement. I think 60Kg may be lost in translation (probably 60N) but the visual effect is...

RE: US JET WORLD MASTERS

Ditto, seems the standard is very high for this event. I am sure the organizers do a good job and probably not for the money! I have always been amazed at the quality of models from the USA from...

RE: Ultra Bandit, p200sx and static?

There is no need for antistatic fuel additive or tubing if you connect engine parts as Oli did AND you also wrap continuous bare thin wire all around the fuel tubing/filters/UAT as well. problem with...

RE: Never stop flying your airplane!

Sounds like the motor gave out. Coreless motors due to their construction are prone to the cage binding if the center magnet core goes out of alignment. That is why a crashed or even dropped onto...

RE: Voltage Regulator on JetCat ECU power line

That will have to be a mother of a regulator! The current draw at start is very high. At 10A the regulator will have to burn off 35 Watts. Not sure of the total current if using a kero plug...

RE: Yak 130 video - masterpiece!

I don't think that's entirely fair, even if it is true that you need a few (lots) $ to do this. This is the F1 event of jet events. I suspect Mr Rusjet is just plain good at what he does, grant him...

RE: Royal International Air Tatoo

Great Pics! Looking at the F16 belly shot it looks like a lot of aileron input? I must have had the wrong idea that the F16 only had staberons? Clearly not.

RE: Does gyro on rudder work against aileron?

Interesting thread, had to think a few seconds before I got it. Harry C does understand the dynamics. At first glance the yaw 'seat of pants' effect is counter intuitive. But physics is physics!...

RE: Error Message on JetCat GSU-

Could also be the tyre compound maybe? At any rate the issue with a lot of issues with the ECU/engine combo's is that the (electrical) ground is not common with the engine/pump. Because of the design...

RE: Using Neodymium Magnets

I would not worry about it. Unless you put them extremely close maybe and even then I cant see an issue. Some current sensors use hall effect sensors but I don't think the Weatronic has those.

RE: Yak 130 video - masterpiece!

Them Ruskies are way cleverer than you may think... I think the design is very clever. These are military aircraft and must be able to operate from cratered/filled in runways/roads. Not only that but...

RE: Yak 130 video - masterpiece!

The Aux intakes seem small but it clearly works. With the intakes covered like that the airframe must be quite draggy.

RE: My scale 1/5 F-16 B

Fantastic work! I am intrigued my this method and was wondering how the mold will work when you add release agent? Will the alum with all the lines/joints release OK?

RE: Cell Phone's & 2.4 Radio's

Actually it more complex than that. There is no amplitude modulation as you understand it. The AM content is because the the cell is transmitting in short packets. In between packets there is no RF...
