RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

I use Hitec HS-325 on all surfaces except for the rudder where I use HS-475 (but the 325 would have been enough for the rudder). Also, I use 6.0V battery pack; if you use 4.8V, you might want to...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

I agree 100% with Rodan. I fly mine with the Magnum 91, heavier than these and still had to add 2oz to the nose. The ST50 is worth it too.

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Hi All,

I though I would share with you my setup that works with the Magnum 91. Special thanks to RMazuera and RodanAZ for their help, without you guys I would have probably been banging my head...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

I am using a Magnum 91 in my ST50 and just finished break in. I had to add 2oz to the nose to balance (very front of the cowling, don't know if I should have put them there). Since I am using a 2...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Disregard.
I finally found one long screwdriver 1.5mm at another hardware store. Had to buy the whole kit.

Gentlemen,
This is the first time I am installing a cowling on a plane. I did my...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Rodan,

Thank you for the advice. I think I'll use 1/4 bolts and open up the plate for the tank. I will have to add some structure at the bottom to support it.
As for your problem, let me...

Same pic 3 times. I could not see it in the preview. First time uploading a pic.

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Rodan,

1) Thank you very much for the hint.

2) I heard that landing gear in the ST is a weak point. I was thinking about either:

a) replacing the blots with larger ones like RMazuera...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

RMazuera,
How did you manage to remove the blind nuts from the firewall without destroying it? Mine seem to be expoxied.

RE: Problem with engine tune.

Jship and Pascha,

I am no engine expert and I have received my first 4-stroke (Magnum XL .91 RFS). Have not used it yet.
I came across a manual on the net that seems more complete than the...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

From the downloaded manual, pictures show a hole in the center of the firewall for the stopper and fuel line. It did not appear in the pictures you posted, that what lead me to that conclusion.
And...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Thank you RMazuera.
Looking at your pics again, leads to another question: I see you reinforced the firewall, do you suggest I do so?
Do you just epoxy some balsa on top of it (or from the...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

RMazuera,

You probably missed my post#163

From post 110, I noticed that the mount is off-centered. Is there a reason for this?
(Before I start building, I am trying to gather as much...

If you read the last posts and since you are already using the same Magnum 91 engine I will be using on the ST50, since you have mounted the engine invertd and since you are having fuel...

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

I forgot... I really like Rodanz selection of 8oz and 6oz tanks. But I might end up with 12oz and 2oz as header. I see from teh pics that there is room for a 12oz at CG.

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Thanks for the replies... Still have an issue.
The reason I am doing this is to lower the tank center line for the inverted Magnum 91. From the pictures (by the way many thanks Rmazuera for the...

Rmazuera and RodanAZ,

1) I know both of you changed the fuel tank. How is the tubing connection made? Never done this before. What size tanks did you guys end up using.
Let's assume big tank...

RE: Problem with engine tune.

Dar,

What I have read so far confirms what you are saying and it makes sense. In my case the stock tank is 11oz and with a Magnum 91, I will probably run it down quite low unless I relocated a...
