Andy, what servos did you use for the gear doors? I'm trying to understand why you would need 240oz retract servos for the wheel cover doors. If I decide to bite on this one, and I most likely will...

Just curious. All you guys using the DLE 55's, how much weight in the nose are you using to balance it properly?

I am contemplating buying this plane. I've been thinking about a DLE 120. It weighs less than the asp and the fg84. The cowl is wide enough to accommodate. Thoughts?

Yes. The control rod. I've never moderately powered any plane. Instead of lead in the nose I've always added extra engine. That being said, the control rod supplied just didn't seem like it would...

Kochj, I have a satio 180 on mine and I am rebuilding the tail for that reason. Going to cut and shape a solid 1/2" slab of balsa to suit. The horizontal stab and tail feather just seem flimsy for...

Won't be for awhile. Still have 4 feet of snow on the ground here. Maybe sometime in June our field will be flyable. Frost is down more than 8 feet in most places. Our field is going to be a swamp...

Fine. The 40 twin it shall be. Less vibration too than the single. It's going to be tricky sneaking this in the house past the wife.

Might be worth a shot still. Even if there are two little holes cut for the caps it's not going to be noticeable at 120 mph.

Plugs will stick out at least another 20mm with the caps. I guess the Evolution is going to be the engine of choice. Looked back and found that people were/are using the Lado retracts. I'm way too...

I know its in here somewhere and probably redundant by now, so here goes. What's the diameter of the cowl? DLE has that new 40 twin out and I'd be interested in doing that combo. If it wont fit I...

Nope. My oil coolers fit poorly as well. Glued them but I still wasn't happy with the fit so I gently sanded the monocote and used some spackle to seal the edges nicely. Still haven't painted the...

Gsoav8r it's not the servo. It's the nylon arm. The set screw is pivoting on the flat spot of the arm. I added another set screw 180 degrees from the original that made it a little more solid. There...

Has anyone else felt that the control surfaces on the tail seem a little flimsy? I have mine set up as per the book and there is a substantial amount of play in the tail. Thinking about going with...

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.

If it were me I'd do the 111. You have the added weight in the nose and for those that don't like that much power there is always the option to throttle back. You have reduced vibration from the twin...

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.

I saw a guy on YouTube that had a DLE 111 in the KMP giant scale. Wasn't screaming fast but had vertical power that wouldn't quit. I'd wait until they come out with a rear exhaust version of the 85....

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

Has anyone ever tried to cram an 80/85cc into the 50cc model? I've seen lots of 55's go into the 30cc models.

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!

As appealing as the Sierras are I cannot justify spending more on gear than what the arf cost. Just my opinion.

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!

I haven't picked it up yet. Waiting to see how much I get in gift certs from the hobby shop for Christmas. I did my research. Liked the robustness of the Sierra's. However the deal I'm getting from...

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!

Instead of all this hating on retracts and the companies that sell them, maybe some of you should go buy a fixed gear bird. This is my first venture into retracts and all this fear mongering is...

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!

Has anyone ever disgustingly over powered this plane? I am having a hard time choosing between the Saito 150 or the Saito 180. I have both just sitting needing a homes.

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!

I've been chatting with Mitch Stott from Down and Locked. He suggested with what I'm planning on powering it with (Saito 150) the gear may wear too quickly from their thin side rails. I asked what he...
