RE: BAttery conversion of my Torqmaster 90 starter FAIL :(

Kind of feels like there is a bind or something. I've messed around with this thing for a couple of hours putting it back together several times and it just doesn't seem like it's going back...

Been wanting to convert my torqmaster into onboard battery. My plan was to use a 3S Lipo. So instead of cutting the cord near the base of the starter and wiring a Deans or XT60 connector I...

RE: Packs need replaced. What should I get

I ordered a 2000mah 9.6V Eneloop TX pack and a 1650mah 6V RX pack. I have a Accucycle Elite charger. What settings should I use to charge these packs? In the old days I'd just charge at C/10 but...

RE: Packs need replaced. What should I get

The plane in question is a UCD 60 with Saito 100. It currently has a NiMH 1650mah 6V Hydimax pack. Served me fine for years but it sat unused for the last 3-4 years. I've cycled the pack and slow...

RE: Packs need replaced. What should I get

One other question. I noticed on Hangtime's website that they offer RX packs using numerous types of battery cells. In the old days, I believe most RX packs were based on AA sized cells. Thats...

RE: Packs need replaced. What should I get

I've used Eneloop batteries in my portable GPS and they are great. Didn't realize people were using them in RC applications. I have a Futaba 9Cap. I assume I'd select Square pack with FJ type...

RE: Best Rechargeable AA batteries?

From my home testing I've been really impresed with both Sanyo Eneloops and with the Rayovac Hybrid cells. One of the largest user groups of the new LSD (low self-discharge) batteries are flashlight...

RE: Loose cowling

Now I remember! I did the washer trick on the old cowl I had on my UCD. It worked wonderfully at the time so I'll probably just do that again. I used small round metal washers epoxied to the...

RE: Loose cowling

Makes sense. I think I'll have to find some larger screws as the ones I currently use would pull through any fuel tubing I have. Thanks Ken.

RE: Attn: Hobbico Elite Owners

A charge of C/10 will not damage the LiPo's but will take a long time. Remember to never charge LiPo's unattended and at C/10 it's going to take all day to charge them. Most people I know charge...

RE: AXI or AXI ... Motors Motors Motors

The AXI motors can handle quite a bit of current, but the 26 on a 3s pack draws too much for the motor. If you do go that route practice good trottle management. Dont' fly around all day at full...

RE: AXI or AXI ... Motors Motors Motors

Be very careful is you intend to use a 3s pack with the 26. Especially a higher capacity one like the 1500. Your going to pull a lot of amps. I'd consider a 2s pack. They are supposed to work...
