49" Yak comments and questions

First of all I would like to say that this is the nicest ARF I have ever seen. I got it delivered on Tuesday by UPS and I finished it Thursday. The construction is incredible. Very strong and...

RE: Which 3D starter plane?

Personally I would go with the Yak because it is easy to fly, very forgiving, and it can progress with you. The wilder you want to go, it will go with you.

RE: Knowledgeable Stores

I'll take the garage any day. If they have glow fuel oil on their pants then you know they fly. If the store looks like a modeler's shop (cluttered, unorganized, messy) its gotta be good.

RE: Bought a Hanger 9 Twist 3D 60 Today

As you found out, the Twist is a real tame flyer if you want it to be. Crank up the rates and let her rip to see what it really can do. (when you are ready of course)

RE: If You See Someone Going In

Yeah we have the "flag on a pole directional guidance system". We found that FRS radios are unreliable in the thick of the field. Cell phones sometimes don't work but that are mush more reliable that...

RE: BVM Ultra Bandit crash St Charles?

Sorry 'bout that...maby... I did say it was expensive and I surely do feel for anyone who crashes whether it is an experienced pilot with an expensive model or a novice who broke his trainer. Never...

It would be a very unique and cool model.

RE: How to program?

Mixes help keep the plane flying straight on knife edge passes. When you apply rudder on knife edge sometimes the plane will either pull towards the canopy or push away and mixing rudder to ail will...

RE: plane crash in woods

A good tree climbing kid is a great way to go. It gives them a reason to climb a tree and they are light enough that they can get to the top of everything without a branch breaking. As long as they...

RE: What is the best way for making decals?

Well I went with the print on the back of Ultracote method. It worked well. Here are a few pics of the completed plane. It is a Starduster by Midwest. I suppose one could call it a 4*40. However, I...

RE: BVM Ultra Bandit crash St Charles?

Some say that the video should not be posted because people will draw incorrect conclusions about the cause of the crash. Yes people will. However, a video will show if it was an "average speed" pass...

RE: Nexstar and the weather verses flesh

Don't second guess you instinctive reactions. You did the right thing. However, you can evaluate the situation that led to the incident which you have already done. The stands are nice for working on...

RE: What is the best way for making decals?

Printing on the backside worked. It turned out a little liney (kinda like an old B&W movie) but I liked the look.

RE: Bought a Hanger 9 Twist 3D 60 Today

I had a Twist 40 for a year until I destroyed it by doing stupid stuff. It handled everything I gave it, except the ground. I had a lot of fun flying it and hopefully the 60 will fly even better than...

RE: Any way to pull out of a low altitude stall?

gboulton covered it all for you. Down elevator, full throttle, then slowly pull up when speed is increased.

RE: What is the best way for making decals?

No this is not a Cub bear. I'm actually using Tux the mascot for Linux. I just want it in the location and size on the vertical stab as the Cub bear.

I tried to print directly onto the back of...

RE: If You See Someone Going In

Soy beans are hard because they swallow up the entire plane. This year we have beans all around our field and they still cause trouble. The only advantage of soy beans over corn is that at least you...
