Razor V2 in Shockflyer???

I have a Razor RZ-Micro-Heli-v2.0 motor, 3 cell lipo and Castle10 BEC I would like to remove from a Hornet heli and put in a Shockflyer (or similar). Do I need a gear box to reduce the speed, and...

RE: tetherd aerohawk

CONGRATULATIONS...

But... You should make sure you use enough wire to act as a resistor so the power is not to high. If it is lifting off at 1/4 throttle I would be worried that you may fry a...

RE: tetherd aerohawk

Use speaker wire. It comes with both wires together side by side.

RE: tetherd aerohawk

Go for it. Hope it works as well for you as it did for me. Try the whole 30 feet first and see what happens. You can always cut a bit off if the power is not there.

RE: tetherd aerohawk

As I said, it worked for me. It is a risk that you have to determine if you want to take. I have done no voltage or amperage measurements since I set all this up. It had plenty of power and the...

RE: tetherd aerohawk

I just took the chance and went for it. I started with 50 feet with the hope that the wire would drop some of the voltage, and it did, but so much so that it would not turn the motor---so I took a...

RE: tetherd aerohawk

I have used an auto battery and a gel cell (my Heli starter batt.). I have done this with a stock hummingbird and with a Hornet CP-X. The speaker wire is 16gauge, maybe even 18guage, the roll is...

RE: tetherd aerohawk

I think it is 16 guage speaker wire. Got it at Radio Shack.

RE: tetherd aerohawk

I don't use anything to reduce the voltage except the wire itself. I had originally hooked it up with 50 feet of wire and it did not run at all. Too much resistance. So I cut the 50 feet in half...

RE: tetherd aerohawk

I did this with a Hummingbird. Ran it off a car battery and 25 feet of small speaker wire. Works great. Have over 50 hours on this setup. Made a heat sink out of soda can for the motor. No...

Sorry it did'nt work out. Mine did not work out too well either. It rubbed against the fuel tank and almost melted a hole in it. I did manage to get the engine to run quite a bit cooler by...

Mousse Cans Revisited

Fadmuker,

I've not heard of the product you mentioned. I've read of people using JB weld, but have not tried it myself. I worry about it cracking as it is an epoxy and gets brittle. I ve used...

Mousse Cans Revisited

I noticed a lot of mousse can posts here in the past, so thought this would be the place to get some good info.
I built a Kraut style MCP for a TT39 heli engine (in a heli) and notice that it runs...
