RE: Where to live?

Seriously! As much as I hate to invite even more people here, Colorado is the new Cali. As we say here in Boulder, the people who stay here are the ones who get lost on their way to Southern...

RE: New to RC

Been in and out of this hobby for 10 years. And I'm only 20 years old. This is the only warning you're going to get, this hobby is addicting!

Just don't let it get you down. There will be times...

RE: Hangar9 Piper J-3 Cub engine mount too small...

Yeah I ended up calling them and they told me they could only send me one so I said thanks and hung up and went and bought one. I'm a *****. :(

RE: Hangar9 Piper J-3 Cub engine mount too small...

The problem was that it's an ARF and the blind nuts are already in place for this specific mount. I understand I can use any mount I just wanted to refrain from having to take the firewall off and re...

RE: Greyhound shipped plane, LOST! , HELP!

You didn't really lose all of your money did you? Because you insured it you will still get some money back from Grey Hound, right? Or is that $540 after shipping and what was left that wasn't...

RE: Hangar9 Piper J-3 Cub engine mount too small...

I haven't actually tried using a .40 size engine because I tried that in different .40 size plane the other week and it didn't do real well so I'm not going to take the chance with this brand new...

Hangar9 Piper J-3 Cub engine mount too small...

Since I am at a higher elevation I need a larger engine for the Hangar 9 Piper J-3 Cub (.40 size). I need to use a .61 size engine and it's too large for the provided metal mount... Does anyone know...

RE: Greyhound shipped plane, LOST! , HELP!

Yeah awhile ago when that wikileaks thing came out about all the classified government documents, people who donated to wikileaks got their paypal account banned and that's when I got rid of mine. I...

RE: Greyhound shipped plane, LOST! , HELP!

Honestly, if you asked if they wanted insurance and they said no... Then that's where your responsibility ends. As long as you shipped it and can provide that proof, it is not your responsibility...

RE: Foamys ? What is a good model to start out with?

Yeah those aren't great planes for aerobatics. They will do loops and rolls but nothing like a nice Katana or similar aerobatic plane.

I suggest you try to find a Katana. They will fly as slow...

RE: I got real lucky

For some reason I am finding it hard to believe that checking servo arm connections should be on everyone's pre-flight checklist. I could see this being something that could be easily overlooked no...

RE: Venting about flight simulators

If you want realism buy MS Flight Simulator X and fly from the tower view. hahah

Seriously though, I have owned a lot of flightsims and I found that the best ones are not from RealFlight. FS One...

RE: .51 eng. in a .40 size plane

I put a .72 4-stroke in a .40 size war bird. I think you can easily manage that. In fact I just bought a OS .61 off the classifieds for the H9 piper cub .40. I have to, since I'm at 5600 ft....

RE: .40 size plane at 5500ft.

My understanding of using more nitro is that the lack of oxygen is what is actually limiting the power. So more nitro won't help, because there is not even enough oxygen to get the maximum...

RE: Anyone ever clip the wing on a Hangar 9 Cub 40 size?

RCShadow, I'm sorry to hear that, that's very unfortunate. Quite ironically one of my old planes actually went down because of the thin air on a hot summer day. I was coming in a little slow with a...

RE: Anyone ever clip the wing on a Hangar 9 Cub 40 size?

I did some more reading and I don't think the engine size is going to be a problem. A .40 2-stroke is not even the minimum recommended size so I think I will be OK. However I am definitely going to...

RE: .40 size plane at 5500ft.

Well I did some more searching old threads(more specifically in my area) and it looks like the majority of people think this is a doable feat.

.40 size plane at 5500ft.

I have the minimum recommended size 2-stroke for my .40-.46 size Midwest Corsair. I'm at 5500ft. elevation, is this going to be a big problem?

I understand this is considered under powdered, but...

Anyone ever clip the wing on a Hangar 9 Cub 40 size?

I just ordered a Hangar 9 40 size Piper Cub. I'm going to be powering it with a .40 two stroke. Anyone ever clip the wings on this plane or is it already pretty aerobatic? I kind of planned on...
