It is brought up in these debates often. The mythers say it gives you a lift advantage. The real reason is it keeps you closer to your original course and you don't have as far to turn.

I started with Kraft, still the smoothest gimbals I have ever used, and when they stopped producing R/C radios I moved to Airtronics as they were the closest thing to Kraft as far as the gimbals...
