Quad for general Video

I've been playing with a friends phantom vision 2+ and it seems pretty amazing. The video quality is impressive along with image stabilization. I like the idea of GPS routes and fixes too, but...

RE: Downwind Turns!!

Now this is good info. Well, not the part about adding down elevator because this will cause you to loose altitute, but the rest of it is good info.

It is difficult, not impossible, but...

RE: Downwind Turns!!

No offense intended, but this makes no sense. Why would your airspeed downwind be 20kts less at a given power setting just because you are making a turn downwind? A model at a given airspeed will...

RE: Ready for second plane?

Tiger is a great second plane/first low winger. I happen to love the Big Stik 40 as a versatile bird. 4*(star) is another great flying plane.

You all but mastered the trainer (i know the...

RE: My plane experiences snaking

Okay so you really want to change this charateristic of your plane WITHOUT changing it's looks. Ever think of using a gyro on the rudder to act as a yaw damper? I think it could work.

RE: D.N.U. engine choices

I've got a SS on mine with a 1 oz tank. I like the external tank due to the 8-9 minute flights that I am getting. This plane is too much fun.

RE: lipo reciever packs

On one hand the OP was asking about Lipos so maybe the responders should have only responded about where to get cheap lipos. On the other hand the is the beginners forum and some are just trying to...

RE: lipo transmitter batt

I'd like to go the life route for my TX also. Which TX are you using and which life cells do you plan on using? Just curious to know what will fit. I'm using a DX7 with a poor performing 1500...

RE: Smoke Oil formulas

I don't use smoke on any of my planes, but having read this thread it has got me thinking. So this is just me brainstorming trying to help get better smoke for those that use it. I think CCDave...

RE: Engine Running in Reverse

You can also try lowering the the throttle trim to the point that it sputters and turns around. I've seen other techniques that I'm not so comfortable with.

I've got to say that I've never...

RE: AEROWORKS TAIL HEAVY

From the first quote above I assumed (bad on my part) that you were implying that AW should do something about this. Your reply to seemed curt so I hope I didn't offend you in some way.

My...

RE: AEROWORKS TAIL HEAVY

Okay, so it seems that everyone is tiptoeing around it, but I'll come out and say it: At what point is the product faulty and require a replacement model? This situation doesn't seem right to me.

RE: Do-335 w/ freewheeling rear prop.

I don't have the answers in number, but it will add a huge amount of drag. Yes increasing pitch will decrease the drag, but the drag will still be huge. Back (way back) from my multi engine...

RE: REAL radio chatter for airplanes??? help please

Unfortunately, I think you will find "real" raido chatter quite boring. I listen to it all the time and there isn't too much excitement there.

RE: Super Soprtster Elevator question ?????

I don't recall the sportser having a problem with this as much as other planes, but it might be just a normal characteristic of your plane. Like I said before, the most dangerous time is when...

RE: Super Soprtster Elevator question ?????

Be carful. It is not the speed that is causing it to spin, but it is the elevator induced g-factor. If you can't be gentle with the elevator out of the down lines, what you need to do is limit the...

RE: Super Soprtster Elevator question ?????

Sounds to me like accelerated stall. Many planes do this when yanking hard causing high G loads. This increases the stall speed and due to torque, p-factor, angled thrust, it doesn't stall straight...

I'm looking online at the RCExl ignitions and they are listed for different engine types, ie, DL, MT, etc. My engine is not listed, however...
