RE: Florida Jets photo's let's see them.

Thanks all for the photos. I love that one Mig-21.

Looks pretty gusty out there today...bummer, I was going to drive over and check out the jets. I read 20-25 sustained, with gusts up over...

RE: whats the biggest plane you,ve lost?

67" Goldberg Edge 540. Sweet flying airplane, I will miss it. It was a combination of rusty pilot skills and lack of concentration that did me in. I hadn't flown in a couple of months. I had just...

RE: covering ideas for P40 top Flite kit

do a search for fiberglassing techniques and tips, it will be very helpful if you haven't done it before. there are many different methods that work, just do some research, pick one that seems to...

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

Hi DR-

I think it flies GREAT with the ST90. I am not trying to do 3D with it, but I can pull up into a hover and I think the vertical performance is just fine. I'm using an APC 14x6 "Pattern"...

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

I have been working on this plane for a while, and finally got it ready to fly. It kind of sat idle for a month while I worked on another project, but now I am anxious to get it in the air! I am...

RE: Four-Star 40 canopy question.

On my 4*60 I used some small screws to hold the canopy in place, along with a bead of canopy glue. Works great!

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

Thanks, I hope to take it out on Sunday morning. We'll see how the final assembly goes...things always take longer than you think. =)

I measured the capacity of the included tank....24 ounces....

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

Thanks for the heads up regarding the reversing Y-harness. I picked one of those up from the hobby shop the other day. For the ailerons I will just use the "Flaperon" mixing and set-up on my JR XP662...

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

I just got mine yesterday from Tower, and this is a really nice looking plane! It's my first ARF so I don't have a lot to compare it too, but the construction seems solid, and the covering job is...

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

I worked it out to 23% scale, but those are kinda hard to find. =) I figure I will put either a 1/5 or 1/4 in mine, depending on which looks right.

RE: IMAC Noise Rule (Newbie)

What are the noise rules exactly? I want to try my hand at a couple IMAC contests this season, in Basic class with a 67" Edge 540 that will have a SuperTigre 90 and a Pitts muffler. I agree that 2C...

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

Yup, that sounds like the way to do it. I will do the same with my ST90. I'm excited about getting this plane. It's my first ARF. =)

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

I wonder if its better to use a spacer, or to find a longer motor mount. Seems like maybe a 1/4" plywood spacer is the way to go. How are you going to do it?

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

Yup...the box recommends a .60 to .90 2-stroke, so I figure the ST90 should be OK. I have a Pitts muffler on mine too. I will think over the servo situation. Again, CG says "standard" servos, but...

RE: Carl Goldberg 67" Edge 540 ARF

I am also curious: I would like to put a ST90 in one of these planes. It's what I have laying around. I don't need the 2:1 thrust/weight for serious 3D flying, I just want to fly some IMAC type...

RE: Dornier Do 335 build

You are off to a great start, the fuse looks good. Have you decided on engines yet? I think one of the challenges in the 335 as a model is the cooling for the rear engine. Also, I imagine, the fuel...

RE: Engine for 4*60

Depends on how you want to fly it. I have a Saito .72 in mine, and I love how it flies. Now, if I were to buy an engine just for this plane, then I might go with a .90 4-stroke, but as it was I had...

RE: saito .72 idle problems - running rich at first?

Well, nyrod turned out not to be the problem. I had the idle mixture set too rich. I reset the needles with 1/4 tank, and got the engine to idle real smooth with full tank and empty. Only one click...

RE: saito .72 idle problems - running rich at first?

Yeah, I am not concerned that the idle mixture is a bit rich...but just that it seems to change over the course of flight and/or how full the fuel tank is. I would rather not have to "click back" the...

RE: saito .72 idle problems - running rich at first?

Hmmm, it is a ny-rod type connection. Actually, due to the position of the carb with the side mount, and the tank/battery, I ran a ny-rod from the throttle servo (in the fuse) about 6" long, exiting...

saito .72 idle problems - running rich at first?

Hi all- I have a Saito .72, well broken in with maybe 50 or so flights on it in a GP .40 Cub. I now have it in a SIG 4*60, side mounted (as it was in the cub), OS Type-F plug. 13oz tank. Centerline...

RE: Saito 56 in 4* 60

Good call. I have a Saito .72 in mine, and it pulls it around OK. not great vertical, but a good sport plane with aerobatic capability. As others have said, if you want a REAL screamer...unlimited...

Same here...just changed the mounts on my 4*60 so the engine is side mounted, instead of inverted. Required me to re-drill/mount the engine mounts (with blind nuts). I just removed the old blind...

Fried Tx? HiTec Focus 3SS Reverse Battery Hookup

hi everyone-

Maybe someone has done this before....I have a 3-channel Hitec Focus 3SS FM radio. I hadn't used it in a while, but the last time I did it was working fine but the Tx battery had...
