RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I'm still seriously considering the mvvs 1.6 gasser. I talked with a friend of mine that flew it on a 12 lb airplane and said it did great.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

No I havent had a chance ,the weather has been crummy. Only reason I didnt do the shim thing for the bottom wing was I wanted to keep a tight fit in the saddle. My first take off sounds like yours...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I dont know of any other way to measure incidence then to use a meter. As for how to adjust it on an arf. For the bottom wing, you'll need to adjust the shape of the wing saddle. It takes very little...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Mine was -1 on the top and bottom wing. I think that was part of the problem with it knife edgeing so poorly. I set mine to 0 on the bottom and -.5 on the top. Hopefully it'll help.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

It would not need choke sometimes to start, but it would always start. I've had the 2.4 and the 3.2 and think they're great motors. Here's a pic of a fuel dot,it's what I usually use on everything from...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I'm not sure what you mean by Filling the tank for run off? Do you mean a fuel can for overfill? If your planning on trying to fill the airplane tank with the vent line it wont work. I usually leave...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Easiest and cheapest way is to buy some wood dowel the proper diameter and cut it the correct length you need and using a drill press drill the center for the mounting bolt. Do not try to soft mount...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I'm yanking the 605's and replacing them with MPI MX-100 Mini's. I've been having very good luck with these servos lately. Anything over 100oz is good for the elevator and rudder. Still dont know...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I havent weight mine yet,but I think the 150 is a great motor to put in it. Mine's got the 1.80. Even though I was only running 15% nitro and a 17x8 apc (too much Speed) it still had plenty of...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Did you happen to check what your incidences were? I guess the saito must be lighter then the os.I had no problem balancing mine.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

I agree and hear what your saying, but for a biplane wing incidence is extremely important and I've never had a plane that was -1 on both wings. Also, with most round fuselage airplane the coupling in...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

Oh,and yes the flying wires are included in the kit. Just be sure to loctite your bolts and nuts. Even the fittings that I mounted to the stabs disappeared, but again this was completely my fault.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

It's probably possible, but will require a decent amount of work to get it done. I just dont think it was worth it. The elevator felt fine to me as did the rudder. Those crappy hitec 605's on the...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

The rear of the plane is mostly stringers on the bottom. As for the roll rate,at that point in the vid I did flip the ailerons to high rate, but the elevator and rudder was in low the whole time.

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

It'll be enough to fly it around well, but I think if your looking to have some serious power you'll need more motor. Goldberg folks said they flew theirs with a ys 1.40. I dont have an accurate...

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER

All set to go. Balanced right in the middle of the CG range they give you. The range is from 5" to 6.2",mine was right in the middle. The 5 cell nimh battery is under the servos. Throws are set with...
