i have both and can't choose a favorite. i will say that i had 6 gas 1/5ths and after getting the electric i sold all but 1... i will always keep my 1st highly modded rampage tt and love running it,...

foxy... join the club... i have 2 redcat rampages and a mcd evo3 5th scale gassers. once i discovered brushless my gassers sit on display. 2 brushless emaxx's, a mmp 5700 blitz and a redcat caldera...

The only problem with hpi is that your limited to 2wd... that may not be a concern to you and thats cool, but once you drive a 4wd... it's awesome.

mcd's are very nice, but known more as a track buggy, if your looking to bash or abuse it real hard like some do, it may not be your best choice... I got mine to run at power jam, largescalerc.coms...

your welcome, just showing that you can have a lot of fun with about any quality large scale... evan a cheaper old one if you don't mind spending some time and money to make it stronger/more...

mcd and nutech are good options along with both you have mentioned... for the money the redcat is nice, all depends on your budget. i have 3 redcats and an mcd, but would own a fg or nutech, all...

i got it, ran it in the basement but not outside yet, lots of snow and coolldd now. looks like a nice rc for the money, steering servo is slow but works for now, i have a upgrade ready when needed....
