16T was stock , so 12T - 16T range would be good .
There will probably be cheaper options than Traxxas .
I dont use brushed motors anymore .

If you look really close , one plug has 2 wires ( fan ) and one has 3 ( ESC ) .
Personally , I would leave it on .
ESCs can get too hot .

So I think you chose well !
Should last on 2S or 3S .

At a start , I would get 12 to 17mm hex adapters . Some GRP tires . A big 3S battery . These motors tend to run hot so get a temp gun and be careful if you start gearing it...

Run time should double in theory . Double the the battery size for not a lot of weight .
My Lipo run time is about 15 mins of fast driving . The difference is you dont notice the drop off as much ....

I tend to run 1 battery at a time . It lets things cool down when you change batteries , before going again . But I have run 2 , Nimh and 2S . I have a 3S lipo as well .
Kids have run it hard till...

I dont know why they do it but they do .
Is yours the brushed or brushless version ?
The weight and size of the motor might be why they change springs ....
