RE: New Giant GP Super Sportster!!!!!

So you'll know, most all the early version Sportsters had weak horizontal stabs. I had one fold up on me around 1979. GP replaced it and the new one got wires. Problem solved. Apparently, the ARF's...

I have about 250 flights on my Seagull YAK powered with a Zenoah G20. It flies great. About a month ago, I put a DLE-30 in my YAK. I have about 40 flights on it and it's awesome...

RE: NEW DLE30!

I have had this happen to several different engines over the years. Now I keep a "back-up" ignition in my field box. This doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

RE: BH50? braveheart engines?

I don't know what "work" you are referring to... I own a BH50 and it runs fine.

It starts easy, (normally 2 or 3 flips) and it powers a 22x8 prop to a respectable 7100 RPM.

I am not a...

RE: Zimpro Cap 21 96

I installed the OS 55GT engine in the CAP yesterday. I hope to fly it in the next day or so. This engine is very potent and it should take the CAP to a new level of performance.

I have a BraveHeart 50 that was on an airplane I bought. It had 10 flights on it when I claimed ownership and I've FLOWN it many times since then. This engine runs fine. It starts on a few flips and...

RE: Zimpro Cap 21 96

The CAP 21 maidened today, and it was surprisingly docile. It only needed three clicks of down elevator and she was locked on rails. The BH 50 runs good and it flies the CAP OK, but its not exactly...

RE: Zimpro Cap 21 96

Hey JDS,

I spent part of the day shuffling things around on the CAP. I did fire up the BH, and it seems to have reasonably good power. Once I get everything re-arranged I'll take it out for a...

RE: Zimpro Cap 21 96

cap10b,

I have been preparing your CAP21 for a new "maiden". I was originally going to replace the BH50, but now I think I will leave it on for awhile. The overall size and structural quality...

RE: Zimpro Cap 21 96

I certainly will!
I generally keep my CG slightly aft in all of my airplanes, except CAP 21's. These birds are notorious for low-speed snaps on final approach, so they get a slightly (about 3 oz.)...

RE: Zimpro Cap 21 96

JDS,

That would be my problem now! However, I've flown (model) CAP 21's for nearly 41 years. You just have to be careful on your final approach. You did a really nice job building this aircraft!...

RE: OS GT 55 (Gasoline engine)

I flew on a Biela 22x8 and a Xoar 22x8 today. The Biela out performed the Xoar in flight, however both props tached at 7330RPM on the ground. I was happy with both props but the Biela had a bit more...

RE: OS GT 55 (Gasoline engine)

I tried the ignition on 6.0 volts today, and I can't tell any difference in starting, running, or power consumption as compared to 4.8 volts. I haven't seen any data on the wattage this ignition uses...

RE: OS GT 55 (Gasoline engine)

Most all the new Walbro carbs are equipped with plastic fuel fittings these days, and they work fine. I have 14 flights on my OS55GT now, and it runs better every time I fly it. Right now I'm getting...

RE: OLD news : OS goes GAS with the OS 55 GT !!

I bought a OS 55GT today from my local hobby shop for $557.95. I already have mufflers (from my DA-50) that connect up perfectly. I haven't run it yet, but what a fine looking engine... and the...

RE: OS GT 55 (Gasoline engine)

I bought one of these engines today. I paid 557.95 from my local hobby shop. This is one wicked looking engine, and it's super light-weight. It uses mufflers made for a DA-50 so you have lots of...
