RE: blackjack26ss .18 engine swap

Actually if you look in the video you can see how much of the rear is flat in the water. again, the weight put more of the rear in the water which slows you down considerably. Also consider that the...

RE: blackjack26ss .18 engine swap

You can put the motor in it but, you will have problems with the cover, new mounts, header, pipe and, drive cable will all need to be changed also another prop . also the extra weight of the motor...

RE: blackjack 26 or thundercat 31?

P.s. Mr Ron Olsen and black talon are very respectable members of this this forum and know way more than i know about these rc boats and, if they say the thundercat is a better boat it probably is. I...

RE: blackjack 26 or thundercat 31?

If you like the BlackJack26ss then thats what you should get. I know that ProBoat has made many improvements to this model and there's not really a lot you need to do as far as upgrades are...

RE: How much castor oil to add to 20% "Car" fuel

I definately agree with not changing fuels . Ive always been under the impression that you should run what you broke the motor in with for its life span as well. My whole thing is with this having to...

RE: How much castor oil to add to 20% "Car" fuel

BlueThunder sport uses 16% oil if im not mistaken. I'm not sure what the big difference between boat and car nitro motors are as far as breaking them in but on my car i'm on my 12 gallon of this fuel...

RE: Water pick up locations?

O.k That makes sense guys. I guess water cooling is real good at moving the heat. I'm used to 1/8 scale car motors running 240/ 250 to make good power. I was thinking that the marine engine would see...

Water pick up locations?

I was wondering if it is better to use the water pick up on the rudder or mount a pick up on the transome? Or, does it really not matter?

Horsepower-vs-Prop selection?

As an example; if you find a prop that works well(good speed and rpm) with your boat using a stock motor and then you were to fully mod this motor would that same prop still be a good choice? Or,...

RE: BlackJack 26ss

I like what you did. Interesting set-up. Might try that when i get a boat for racing; for sure. My main goal on this project is to make at least the exterior look as realistic as possible. I think i...

I was noticing the dual exhaust on your boat and, is this something you added to it or, did it come this way? Is it by any chance a water cooled system? Correct me if i'm wrong but...

RE: BlackJack 26ss

Yea. being 2-stroke engines you loose probably 60% or more of your boost out of the exhaust. Im sure it would work better with a 4-stroke though. Can you simply cut a hole in the muffler and route a...

RE: BlackJack 26ss

Thanks for the info. The exhaust looks pretty cool but, i'm going after scale realism. The trim tabs would just simulate what a real boat would have. I plan to add another through transom pipe and go...
