The Lazer is a heat racing boat, designed to handle high speeds and from what I understand, prefers rough water. The Aeromarine hull was designed for a .45 nitro but looks like they have some kind...

A few things:

1. what prop are you running? could have too much pitch causing it to bog down in the turns and never get back on plane
2. is the strut height adjustable? if so may try raising it...

I was thinking of switching from Baxter bags to Zipp. Do the Zipp bags take the same fittings and how long do they stay pliable?

RE: best motor

The strongest motor of those 3 is the K30.  it also has the most potential with further mods.  It might be too much motor for that hull however . . . but to some ppl that isn't a bad thing

RE: Engine advice for a 42

I own a 254 evo, owned it since June of last yr, no issues with it once I replaced the crappy stock pull starter. I originally used my G230 starter on it but have since switched to EZ start and will...

RE: Engine advice for a 42

Have you considered a RCMK 254 evo or the new RMCK K30?  Both of those are <$300 shipped new and should get you to your desired speed range quite easily with the right prop.  You may be able to get...

RE: New to boats, new build

I recently built a Stryker F41 cat and read every build thread on JRCBD I could find, sent a few pm's, and a few common themes came up.

RE: Blinged out the cat

Very nice looking boat, like the simply paint/decal scheme and you did a very nice job polishing the hardware!

Duplicolor engine enamel doesn't need a clear coat on top to be fuel proof, very tough paint, doesn't chip easily due to embedded ceramic particles, but the color choices are somewhat limited.  I did...

RE: Boat buoyancy – What do you use currently and Why?

By far the most popular flotation I've seen (and use myself) is pool noodles.  They are cheap, come in a multitude of colors, and can be cut to almost any size using a serrated knife on a cutting...

RE: Drilling mounting holes on the engine rails

Years ago I used a cheap flex shaft attachment that came in a drill accessory kit, it was designed for screwdriver bits in hard to reach places.  Had to use quick change drill bits and those flex...

RE: My winter project

Looks like a splash of Stryker F41. I run a 36" Aeromarine cat with stock RCMK 254 evo and was able to pick up 10 mph by going to a 2716/2/15 prop. Many have had much success with those on Strykers...
