RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kely,
I really lie that scheme. It was one I looked at alot when I was looking for one. Notice I even used the IMAC and DA ideas.

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
Sorry for the late input but in case anyone else needs the info here goes.
The best fiberglass adhesive is Hysol made by Loctite (I learned this from Walt). Don't bother with the tips as...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
I can't believe you are using blue tape. I had to switch to the cheap stuff. The blue pulled balsa up in a few spots when I was glueing sheeting. I find the cheap stuff works better as it...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Hey Wayne,
I wonder if the stab tube screws are necessary. I think most ARF's are coming with root rib screws but no tube screws. Do you know if he had a problem or is he just being safe?

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
Are you going to also use the stab tube screw or just the two 6-32 screws on the root rib tabs? I was only planning on the tabs but have seen others use both. I am also using 8-32 screws. I...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
The wing bolt pads are some of the small detail I spent a lot of time worrying about. Wanting to make sure I didn't get something in the wrong order. (I worry about the small stuff)
It...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
Cool idea. I thought you had your wing attachment bolt pads in a little early.
I am in the process tonight of setting incidence and cutting the ply pads into the wing root.
I have...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
I think I am going to try the stab attachment idea you are using. Thats what my Aeroworks uses and it seems better than the Carden way.
I was reluctant due to the fact I don't have a...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
Thanks, I am past that now. I have the fuse boxed and all foam sheeted. I have more work on the wings then it is time to set incidence.
Thanks for the offer.

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

I am about to set up servo placement on both wing and stab. What the heck. Too many choices and not much guidance.
I am setting up for IMAC only. Only two servos on wing and one on stab and very...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly,
Early in the thread you were working on the fuse but before finishing you went to sheeting. Did you finish the fuse without keeping us informed or did you set it to the side?
I am in the...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kelly and All,
I just started my 260 kit last night and am wondering about rudder servo placement. Most seem to be running dual push-pull servos at the tail. I have not seen this in the...

RE: 2 for one - Carden 40% Extra 300 Build

Kregan,
How many hours are you thinking you will have in each kit by the time you complete them?
I have heard estimates of 600 hours on a Carden and as much as I want to build my own, I can't see...
