Exactly combat, this thread wasn't intended to make the Traxxas trucks seem inferior......just to point out that their advertising claims are not accurate......I've never seen the Jato in action, but...

What is Traxxas refering to as "2.5"? I'm assuming that's the cc?

Also, what does 0.15 and .12 etc stand for? I'm assuming that's the piston displacement in liters?

I didn't think of that....maybe they got these numbers with their competetors running uphill and the Traxxas trucks going downhill. :D

Both our engines were tuned.

According to this chart on their website, the Traxxas Rustler is over 11mph faster than the RC10GT.

I know for a FACT that is not true. My neighbor has a Rustler and I have a RC10GT. Racing WOT...

In my experiences, Tower Hobby has been great. The prices for parts are usually cheaper than my LHS.....only drawback is shipping fees.

My LHS ticked me off, so I now order ALL my parts online.

I think I found my problem....

The roll pin that latches onto one of my rear wheels broke....I just got new wheels/tires and when I put them on I must've over-tightened them and broke that pin....

Tire glue question

I know that I'm going to need to glue the wheel to the foam/tire.......but do I need to glue the outer side of the foam thats against the tire?

Take the air filter out and take a look in the carb to make sure there's a big enough gap for air in your idle position. You might not be allowing enough air through the intake.

Thanks for the replies....

I went ahead and ordered an 64T spur gear and a 16T clutch bell to replace my 15T......don't know how much of a difference it'll make but hopefully it'll be a little...

I have a RC10GT and my neighbor has a Rustler.....his cost about $100 more and is just BARELY faster on pavement. But offroad mine handles better on the bumps - although that probably has more to do...

Well, I ordered a new brake disc.....hopefully that'll fix it. I've tried adjusting the nuts on the brake linkage and even adjusting the idle setting. No luck.

My RC10GT's brakes are acting up. It's really strange because when I test them with the engine off the wheels lock up, and for the first few mins they work good. But after a few mins of running it...

A while back someone stated that if you take the plasitc "restrictor" out of the carb's air inlet that it'll have much more power.

I do have a plastic peice in the air inlet that makes that...

Overseas...where to get nitro fuel?

I'm in the military and PCSing to Turkey this summer......I checked Tower Hobbies and they don't ship fuel overseas. Anyone know of a place online that will ship it to Turkey? Maybe some of you Brits...
