RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

Bill,
Watched the video, nice save. Man you keep that thing high up. I used to do that, then when you get more confident you can fly closer to the ground. Nice work on that. Some good banked...

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

Bill,
I have not seen the video (blocked at work) but I like the reference to my styl of flying. By the seat of your pants! (Sometimes you need to change your pants after a flight).
I think with...

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

Hi folks,
Been about 3 months since I was on here last. I have been really busy, but to be honest, I just took my heli out today for the first time since probably December. I did not make time to...

RE: Blade 400 Servo's

Be careful if you go all digital. The ESC can't put out enough power to control digital servos and idle up stunt flying. You could get a "brown" out where the voltage drops just enough to cut power...

I have a FMA Direct cell pro 4 charger. It is a sweet charger for around $90 shipped with the eflight balance lead adapter. I use a computer power supply for the 12 volts as there is no ac adapter....

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

RMG,
I have not flown in over 2 months. Still need to work out the gyro issues on the B400. Everything is in storage mode right now.

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

Many things happening here.

Jeff, nice old truck you had there. What other car do you own? I have a MR2 Turbo, but I think you know that. I am going to the Mid Ohio race track with it in April....

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

How can you have your heli and not fly it! J-Man I too have a Yoda truck too, but mine is a '91 New York Winter Salt rusted pile with 201,000 miles on it. Currently it leaks a little gas while...

RE: Blade 400 Landing Hard

Just plan on landing at half stick. You need the negative to control the heli in a breeze. You will get used to it. Practice with RADDS flight school (search for it) so you can fly "light" on the...

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

9sec240 ,
Hey pal!! I too have a B400 that I bought back in April. First off some things:
Those servos are pretty bad and I would not be surprised if you chopped the throttle like a CX2 which...

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

9sec240, it boils down to what you want to spend. A DX6i is what I have since I bought a Blade 400. If you have the cash get a 7 channel, in the future you will only go bigger and that 7th channel...

RE: Learning in idle up mode

Heck no!! Don't use Idle up to learn. If you panic and chop the throttle it will still be full speed but with negative pitch so it will head to the ground twice as fast as gravity can pull it. Then...

RE: blade 400

More details or pics. I had mine strip out in mid flight due to the motor screws not being tight and the motor moved away from the main gear. Stripped the main gear and did an Auto rotate to the...

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

Ummmm. What is wrong with asking me for advice? Mine just usually entails some kind of 5 part stick movement and having the heli 10 feet off the ground inverted yelling curse words.

RE: Struggling with Single Rotor basics

Jeff,
Nice flying!! I would say we might be about even on skills. I noticed you were trying some toilet bowl moves as you kept the nose pointed center and rotated the heli around in a 10' circle. ...
