Yes the connector broke right where the motor wires and the ESC wires come together. I think it was the blue one but they all plug together the same way. They are very difficult to pull apart...

According to Spektrums web site the DX6I comes with a rechargeable pack and a charger...why would you need alkalines??? Just charge the transmitter the night before you fly and you should be good for...
