RE: Cessna 340?

I flew a Turbo-Commander in the 80's. We actually called it the Turbo-Commode lol...pretty and roomy but not very fast. Interestingly enough, Ted Smith designed the Commander along with the Piper...

RE: Epoxy Finishing Resin?

I have used BSI epoxies for this. I usually thin it down with alcohol first so it will brush better. I also usually throw a piece of light glass on top just to make sure (it never can hurt ;) ).

RE: New E-Flite Cessna 150 Aerobat

Amen to that! Sometimes, I had $200-$300 hambergers! It was fun though...lots and lots of memories of flying all over. Maybe one day, this economy will come back (or go forward?) and we all can...

All I get at the Sig site is something to the effect that the 110 is no longer for sale.

RE: AVOID Nitroplanes!!!!!!!!!

All I get out of this drama is to stay away from Nitroplanes and Flymodels. All it taught me was these two companies have no ethics. Until I hear from the companies in question via ad or some-such...

RE: Motor of choice for Sig Cap 231EX

I flew my Sig Extra 300XS with a Brison 2.4. I also had a friend that I flew with at the time that had the Sig Cap with a Brison 2.4 in it as well and it was a nice combination. I know my Extra had...

RE: which do you prefer tail dragger or a trike style

They all have their place to be sure but a Tri-Pacer would come close to a clipped-Cub. Although I would certainly not want an engine out situation with a 1:1 Tri-Pacer [X(]

RE: Price Jump!

I went and looked at the WaybackMachine (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php) and if it is the same plane, it sold for $259 in 2008.

RE: Price Jump!

As sales continue to decline, I think this will be the norm. I just hope all this bottoms out before suppliers start to close down on a permanent basis. We are already seeing some flounder around.

RE: which do you prefer tail dragger or a trike style

Ahhhh, but that was "back in the day" when rudder skills were necessary...not just for steering like most trike pilots :D

But I couldn't agree with you more.

RE: which do you prefer tail dragger or a trike style

I like either but in my opinion, it takes more piloting skills to handle a tail-dragger. This goes for models as well as full-scale. A cross-wind will test your piloting skills with a tail...

RE: Sig extra 300 xs throws/ rates need help?

We need more info lol.

I had one powered by a Brison 2.4 that was almost 15lbs and low rates on elevator would not even rotate the airframe on take-off. Once I turned up to high rates, all was...

RE: RC GUYS Cherokee 140

Thanks Dick. I knew it was one of them though. Good review as usual and I miss the mag [:o]

EDIT: The OP asked about the 140. A response was about the Cessna ;)

RE: RC GUYS Cherokee 140

RC Report did a review of the Cessna and there were a few squawks on it. You might want to look up the review before you plunk down your $'s and make sure thats what you want.

RE: Anyone ever clip the wing on a Hangar 9 Cub 40 size?

I can certainly understand what you are saying. As a full-scale pilot, we had it drilled into our heads during flight training to calculate altitude, and more importantly, density altitude on hot,...

RE: Anyone ever clip the wing on a Hangar 9 Cub 40 size?

I clipped a H9 Cub wing back in 98-99 timeframe and it worked well. I did not like the typical floaty feeling of the full size wing. I took the ratios from a Goldberg Cub kit plans to get the...
