If you kept it at 14 lb, it would have a CWL (cubic wing loading) of 7.2 which is light. Anything under a CWL of 7 is a floater

Did you ever get your Ghetto Plane 2x4 gasser spad to fly? I calculated that your CWL (cubic wing loading) was 11.3 which is definitely flyable. I flew mine at a CWL of 15 !
