OK people might say i am biased because i run for JQ but as far as i know THE RTR is one of the best out of the box starter packages on the market right now.
check out both the JQ threads on RC Tech...

it's one of the oldest plarforms on the market at the moment & the team guys are using LOADS of Kyosho parts to keep them competitive!
its long overdue...

i'd get an onroad .21 & pipe. thise things pull some serious RPM

plus your car looks to be riding very high? lower it down & maybe run the driveshafts level. should be a tiny bit more efficient...

i live in a populated area like probably over 80% of the people on here. i own many nitro cars & my neighbours have never complained!

however i doubt they can hear them from the track :D

just pick the right compound based on the temperature & you're good to go :)

they had bolt on hingepin holders on the outside edge of the chassis which would explain the holes outside of the square of the front & rear gearbox holes

just a guess...

the second batch of cars that will be arriving at A main soon are still cars from the first production run.
the initial delivery of cars were flown over for the people who had pre ordered & a few...

the people quoting you a year to fix any minor first batch issues with THE car are talking out of their backsides [:'(]

the few problems reported on RC tech have been typical "first batch"...

had a quick look & the JQ prototype 4 shoe clutch i was using is more like the JVD clutch system

i just used one of the prototype cars at one race meeting last summer.
it would have been nice to have more (some) track time with the car before the meeting but the schedule didn't allow that so...

gives you a good idea of how hard the suspension on these cars have to work to turn in some good lap times ;)
